So as I touched upon yesterday in my joke video with the rgb saber color switching script that I made; I'm working on a cfg that will add a system of "menus" that will allow for quick and easy access of any frequently used commands. My goal here is to establish an easy-to-use and efficient method of accessing different features that could otherwise only be changed/edited through the menu or console. Many of these would be luxuries available only to those who use UU, and if you use steam like I do, it'd be nice to have more accessible customization without having multiple cfgs; which just gets messy. This cfg would add a lot more to the table, however, in regard to specific customizations and accessibility. I can't reproduce things such as UU's player tracker, and other more advanced features in a config of course, but this will allow for faster access of useful clientside commands and profile switching. Keep in mind that, while not everything here would necessarily be useful to anyone in AoF, it would be helpful to a lot of other players in the JKA community; which is what i had in mind originally when i started working on this with plans to release it if it turns out any good.

Some of the vstrs that I've already made for this cfg include:

Skin Selection - Allows you to cycle through a list of preset skins and select them.
- I'm also working on a way to change specifically heads/torsos/legs on custom skins. I think it'd be cool to be able to change certain items of clothing on these skins without having separate binds for them.

Saber color/hilt - Although the hilt selection option would be a bit pointless on the AoF server since it's disabled, it's still pretty nifty ^_^. the saber color function works with rgb, regular colors and the effects for the rgb saber.

Profile Selection - This one is incomplete, but i know exactly how to make it. (it's just more time-consuming) the idea here is to allow players to have different sets of character styles; whether its for RP, specific events, or even just different name/chat color styles. the selection of different profiles would allow the player to change their chat color, their name, and any/all of their chat binds to fit that specific profile. any other specific changes could also be included.

Chat Mod Manager - Allows the player to access any necessary passwords or commands needed to switch between different chat modes. It's similar to the one Slider made with JA+, just more reliable, and includes options for password selection if you're administrating on more than one server.

Admin - If anyone is familiar with the admin script that comes with JA+, It works like that one. I hope to make it function a bit more efficiently; placing the commands with higher priority nearer to the center. I'm also adding the option for multiple passwords. Perhaps some Rcon stuff as well. :O

Camera Settings - I plan on adding more options to this one, but for right now this is just limited to a bind that lets you toggle between cg_thirdpersoncameradamp .3 and 0 ... x)

Character RGB - Right now I currently have this set to 12 random "cycle-able" preset colors that i used in my old config, though I'll probably add more.

Emote/Chat script - Some of you may have seen a script on JK3files that allows you to cycle through and select a series of chat or emote binds. This is useful to have on hand for the less used chat/emote binds that take up keyboard space. Keep in mind that it is possible to make any series of commands "cycle-able" in this manner.

Others - Some other vstrs that i made for commands that i find myself frequently changing include com_maxfps, cl_timenudge, and Volume. I also made a bind that allows you to set your force powers, your saber, your name, clanpass, admin pass, and chat mode before joining the game. after joining the bind changes its function to a spectator bind, which returns you to spec. after that, it resets.

-None of these vstrs conflict with the jp_macroscan setting on the server, as none of the commands involved deal with actual gameplay. Vstrs that include "illegal" commands are still removed.

If anyone is at all interested in actually using this, let me know. If not...I'll probably still work on it for my own amusement so if anyone has any ideas/suggestions/criticisms for anything useful that i could add to this then let me know :D

That sounds like an interesting project, one that i would certainly try out when its complete. I don't use UU or anything at the moment as i have never seen the point in them but this seems to have some useful functions!

On a slight side note i actually have no idea why the saber color/hilt thing is disabled on our servers, i'm sure there is a reason but i have never really inquired why....

Well I believe its there to prevent players from switching saber types during ffa. Which is definitely a good idea but I rarely see players on other servers use it in that nature anyway.

I've also realized that I'll have to minimize excessive use of the /echo command in the vstrs since in order to prompt the player of the different functions, this command sends a message to the top right of your screen; which can really fill up the screen and console of players who use lower resolution. Players using 640 x 480 resolution probably wouldn't want to use this.

I've finally finished a Pre-Release version of the config. It still has a few minor issues and doesn't have quiiite everything finished yet, but this should give you a decent idea of how this will work once It's completely finished.

This version has:

-A connection/fps menu that allows you to change variables that affect your ping and fps.
-this menu also has several pre-made profiles for different levels of graphic detail. this is mostly meant for
people with low fps, who may need help in maximizing their fps potential.
-A Skin Selection vstr that allows you to toggle skins with two binds and select with a third bind.
-A Saber menu that won't really have any function on the AoF server
-A Profile selector that lets you switch between preset profiles
-A character RGB selection using the keypad with 32 preset colors.
-An Emote vstr that allows you to cycle through every emote and select it with just 3 binds.
-A chat vstr that cycles through preset chat binds (good for saving keyboard space)
-A Demo/Screenshot tool that saves files to selectable quicksave slots
-An Admin tool that gives the player the option to switch between player slots, admin cmds, and gun cmds and execute them.
-A chat mod manager that lets you switch between Clan, Admin, ampsay, and Team chat modes

To-Do List:

-Finish camera settings menu
-Fix any bugs or control issues
-Add miscellaneous utilities
-Complete a general tuneup to make everything work more smoothly, and look more visually appealing

Give this a try and let me know about anything that i can fix or add to make this better!
