Attention Skyrim players. If you didn't notice, Bethesda released today the creation kit along with an high resolution pack.. I downloaded and installed this HD pack about an hour ago and to be polite let's just say it's not worth it.. at all. There is almost no noticeable changes except armor and weapons being a bit more sharp and clean. rocks and terrains are still as ugly when you get near them. Same thing with buldings and table and... everything else.

But that's not the worst part... you know what's funny... with all these few noticeable changes, it reduce CONSIDERABLY the framerate and I am being nice here. After 30 min of gameplay with a constant 40 fps, for no reason after leaving a cave... My fps dropped to around 10..... the funny part is that i was at the exact same spot 10 min ago and no lag at all.... and I have a brand new GeForce GTX 560 Ti... so there is really something wrong with the optimisation here. Even before that issue occured, i had lots of random lag spike that I didn't have before installing the pack.

Anyway, if any of you downloaded it, I'd like to know If i am the only one having this framerate issue or you get it too. And if you didn't downloaded it yet, I recommend you not to. It is simply not worth it graphic wise. You are better of with the Skyrim HD 2k mod on nexus.

Hey you're talking to another geek D: of course i checked the recommended setting and I am above it. Atleast you can put the pack on and off from a single click.

I haven't played Skyrim in a while, so I didn't get a chance to try it yet.
However, if you want your game to look pretty, check out http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/ I used a bunch of mods from there, both graphic mods and the no-spider mod.
