Okay, this clan is pretty polarized in terms of PC skill; either you know your stuff, or you fail at all computers. With that being said, are you folks interested in a professional step-by-step PC build guide? Here's the situation; I've got a line of computers I'm building for a bunch of clients within the next couple weeks. I'm willing to take step by step pictures and write a detailed how-to guide for it if you folks are interested. I'm also willing to field all questions regarding specs, specific reasons for methods used, etc... So... deal? |

Kind of unnecessary. There are detailed step by step with picture tutorials for just about every piece of hardware in specific showing how to build a PC. What you could do is when people here decide to build one, find and compile the tutorials for each piece they're planning to purchase or you suggest to them so they can see how to work their items, not just the general idea. |

I think it's a good idea, we know we can trust rai/the other computer savvies here, I'm often suspicious about computer building tutorials. Go for it my friend. X) |

I think its a good idea, sure it may not be helpfull to some, but it will for others. Yes there may be many step by step tutorials out there but to have one written by a clan member who you can also ask questions about what they have done is invaluable! |

Excellent idea Raik. Those other tutorials can be misleading and confusing to those who are unsure of the basic "in"s and "out"s of PCs, Laptops, etc... and that is why it's, as Moose said, an invalueable aid to have a friend, or in this case, clan member. |

can't it be both? =( kk. Well, I'm building Intel Core 2 Quad PCs at work. All recent Intel CPUs are exactly the same in terms of installation so a pretty good generalization to go by. AMD gets a little bit trickier but only because the interface type is a little different (and easier to mess up). I'll be sure to start snapping photos then =) |
