Definately not the same. GeForce 9800 is way way way faster, with more memory, a wider bus, and a faster clock speed.

That's a matter of opinion.

Nvidia's GTX280 is a beautiful thing to look at though, this you can't deny.

Although I like what ATI/AMD is doing in response. Their cards are getting more powerful, cheaper, and smaller as opposed to NVIDIA's monster cards

Also the Radeon 9800 is NOT the same. It's an older ATI card with less memory at an inferior bandwidth (DDR vs DDR3), slower clockspeed, everything. While the 9800 is essentially an overclocked 8800, it still blows the Radeon out of the metphorical water.

yes but mind that rockstar failed at optimizing the game for the PC so there would be difficulty with any card.

Yeah, ATI might have the more powerful and cheaper cards, but their drivers kill it for everyone. If you run linux, don't even bother with ATI.

lol, I was gonna point you to a better card for the same price, but you do get a free copy of CoD4. ;) Careful with XFX, they aren't known for reliability.

I run two Geforce 9800 GTX's in SLI and from what I understand it will still do badly with GTA4. <_< However, it's a CPU hog, much like UT3 except worse. It's recommended to have a 2.4GHz Quad core.... : /

yea no *poo*. I have a quad core 2.66GHz and I can't run it at max specs..... the game is very bad optimized. But with a 9800 GT you should be able to play. I have a 9500 GTS and I can.

It will run everything just fine dude. Unless you want to spend $250 on a GTX280 the 9800 is about the best you're gonna get.

also, I ran an XFX 6800GTX for 3 years and it never crapped out on me.

Most games now are poorly optimized. Tis why I won't buy them. They are designed by lazy programmers fresh out of college, they script more than they actually program, they use short cuts. All they really have going for them, is pretty system hogging graphics. Once games are able to provide high end graphic design with less effort from these massive gfx cards I may consider buying them. Until then... I'll hold off, the dynamic lighting/glow (I think that's the one) is only going to ruin your eye sight as it never allows your eyes to focus. No sense in aging my eyes 20 years to play a game for a total of 5 hours til completion (if that).

P.S.

Go Nvidia. =)
