I'm posting this on behalf of Kaelin. She is having trouble connecting to the server. When she attempts to join any server none appear on the lists. She tried to connect via X-fire and when the connecion screen came up it proceeded to count upwards, without ever connecting. help would be greatly appreciated. Padawan Kodin |

I had the same thing when I was connected to the internet through my Wireless router. I was able to solve it by plugging in my notebook directly to the router. The cause in your case could be a firewall (Because a firewall checks the data BEFORE they go through a port), from the pc/notebook or from a router/modem. I am not saying it is, but it does explain all the symptoms. My advise is
Again, I could be wrong about the cause of it, but it seems unlikely. ~Gamecouncil P.s. Do note that the router guides involve changing network settings. If you don't know what it does, don't touch it unless the guide tells you to. P.p.s. The default password of your router/modem is often mentioned in these guides, however unlikely, they may be changed by someone who set up the network. Ask them for the correct password or have them forward a port to your computer. P.p.s2 I know I directed my post to you and not to Kaelin. But it was easier for me this way. |

here's a silly question: did she ever download the JA 1.1 patch? You can't see most servers without it. If you do try to connect via an IP (or with Xfire) it'll either ping out (the counting) or reject you altogether. |

@ Rai Neither kaelin or I are any good with computers, so no, she does not have the patch and that would be my fault. Honestly I don't even know what a patch is so... if it gets her up and running I'll go get it. lol @ Gamecouncil Thanks for the sugestion but I probably just didn't get everything I needed in the first place, I'm going to try Rai's fix first. |

Yeah, what raik said. Tell her to go find Jedi Academy patch 1.1 on google. Also, this may be even sillier, but it's the reason i've had JKA for 3 years and only started playing multiplayer now, has she press "get new list" when she goes onto the multiplayer section for the first time? XD |

Ok, she got the patch and was able to see the servers yesterday. She even played with a few of you, but now she can't see the servers again or connect through xfire. Any suggestions? |

Umm, sometimes the server list jams up a bit, just keep refreshing and clicking new list, it pops up eventually. Or add the server to favourites then keep the server list on favourites, easier to find the christmass server that way at least. x_X;; |

This is why i dont bother with going ingame to connect to server. I always go through xfire :P try adding the server to xfire favorites and connect from there. |

I think you should pay heed to what gamecouncil said. The firewall can be an issue with wireless routers. I only managed to play myself after adding jedi academy multiplayer to the exceptions list on both of my firewalls and forwarding port 29070 for some servers. If raik agrees to what I say, I'll tell you how to work it, or even better, he can. |
