It's designed to fit with the higher end of the tech spectrum, in terms of memory speeds, cpu architecture, all that good stuff...

Question for both of you Walker and Kage.

Which version of Vista are each of you running/trying to run?

Let's settle this now. Zero has tried his Vista, he loves it. He agreed it's fast, stable, and very useful.

Vista is better than XP if done right. End of story.

Have fun with your PC Zero.

Maybe its the discrepency between the versions you boys have. One has premium the other has ultimate. maybe the Ultimate is the more instable of the two.

Yeah I don't know what the crap was all about. There was some trouble getting it installed and finding the right hotfixes but that's only a matter of whether you're familiar with applying some basic patches to your OS as everything is right there provided by Microsoft in case something goes wrong. It even attempts to find a solution for any problem and points you in the right direction.

Right now it's very stable and very fast with no slowdowns. Definitely an enormous performance increase from my last PC with XP, especially with 64-bit operations.

I'm ran through the Crysis demo in DX10 with every single setting on Very High at playable framerates and virtually almost no slowdowns even in heated battles. Crysis looks beautiful, Vista looks beautiful, and it's very pleasant to use this OS as a change over XP.

Vista is better if done right, but I stick to XP because it still runs my old-er games and Vista just doesn't seem to support.

You can run older games in Windows XP compatibility.

I know that, but I mean some really really old games that, even after changing the compatability, didn't work. Eventually I'll upgrade though, it's pretty much inevitable.
