This is caused by a limitation in a network device like a router. This is commonly seen on wireless devices. When you log in to Xfire it sends out queries to all the servers your Friends and Friends of Friends are playing on. When those UDP packets get returned, the routers internal tables cannot handle the data properly and shutdown your network connection. The known workarounds for this problem are: 1. Turn off the Friends of Friends option. (Tools> Options> Privacy tab. Uncheck "Show friends of my friends"). 2. Turn off the typing notification. (Tools> Options> Privacy tab. Uncheck "Show people when I type to them"). 3. Try disabling the Xfire download system. (Tools> Options> Files tab. Set all to "Disabled"). |

Yeah, another problem is when I load up xfire it seems to bugger my net up straight away and when I try to log in it just wont connect me, It says something like Error: The DNS was unable to find a require host name or something This means I cant get into the options because I cant log in. ANd IT also doesnt explain why my net browser breaks when I trie to go on the xfire website |

For the DNS issue, you just have to reallow xfire on your firewall. As for the website that is just an issue between you and the webserver due to you being a certain distance away with an unsuitable net connection. |

The actual error messages says Error: your DNS server was unable to resolve a required host name And my connection shouldnt me unsuitable because it used to work on that site before and I havent had my connection changed How do I do all that firewall business to allow me to use it? |
