Figure since there's about 5 of us so far who have Wii's, I'd start a topic for Wii numbers.

You can find this out by going into the message board on the main menu of the Wii, click on create message button, and go to your address book.

Inuyasha's (Josh's) Wii Number:
2942 2167 9318 6019

Looking forward to getting messages from you folks!

I'll have my number soon, possibly.

In response to the "Wii or PS3" thing, I belive the graphics for both systems are just as good and stuff, but thats not what the games are about. It's about how fun their games are. I recently played 'Wii Sports' with my Dad, whom has never played a game with me, and we enjoyed a game of Baseball, and we keep playing occationally. To me, thats what makes the Wii better. ^_^ But,thats totally my opinion and we should get back on topic ^_^

(off_topic)

So once again I'll have my Wii Number thingy soon, I hope.

You need to know what the PS3 is about before you can compare the two...

...and on topic:

What exactly can you do once you got your buddy's Wii number?

<_< It'll let us share characters (called Mii's  ) for now but I belive that eventually this'll have to do with online play.

The Wii numbers allow you to send characters you make called "Mii"s over to a friend's system, and there's also a feature where Miis from all across the world can gather on your system if you enable the "Travel" option. I had a guy's Mii from texas visit my console the other day.

The number also enables you to Instant Message your friends with the Wii's built-in messenger called the Message Board, send files and photos, and eventually online play with games like CoD3, Smash Brothers Brawl, and others.

As far as the PS3 thing goes.. I played both PS3 and Wii at demos before making my decision and the PS3 was not what I had expected. It was actually 50 times less than what the hype made it sound like it was. The Wii brings my all time favorite series plus motion sensor gaming into one system, and that's where I made the purchase decision. There are many games I am looking forward to obtaining such as Smash Brothers Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Avatar the Last Airbender, and last but not least, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Rumor has it that the spell system will rely heavily on the motion sensor remote, instead of assigning the spells to the buttons on the remote. I wouldn't doubt it if you had to actually learn the wrist movement for each spell because the Wii's motion sensor can actually pick up on that.

In zelda, you can't just hack and slash and expect to win. To thrust, you have to stab forward. To slice sideways, you have to slice sideways. The horseback combat relies on which direction you swing the controller in order to get to the right side of the enemy :P

The Wii, as far as adaptability and control goes, far outweighs the PS3 for my standards. I like to feel like I am inside the game, where all actions I make affect the outcome, and the Wii delivered that with a bonus side of cheese. The PS3 is far too expensive, far too glitchy, and the graphics are nothing more than a glorified Alienware PC on crack. The Wii makes things look alive, you can actually see every wrinkle on Link's face when he's pissed off, and the tears in Zelda's eyes when she is sad. The PS3 can do this, but to a limited degree.

Having actually played both systems, I can easily and rightfully say that the Wii pwns the PS3 for me. :)

Come on, who doesn't love cheese?

ON TOPIC PLEASE...

I never get tired of hitting that delete button. And I'll continue to do so if your post is not about "Wii numbers" (the subject of this thread)

I don't. However, when I get some money, I will get myself a Wii, and play many hours of Zelda, until I finally save that ฿i*ch!

And then, I will buy a game involving swords, and possibly guns.
