I got KOTOR this past summer and played it for a while. Then when I got off the first planet it didn't work. So then my dad bought a new graphics card for our comp and it now works again. So I can't wait to play it cuz it kicks ass. After I beat the first one then I'll get the second one but I wanted to hear what people say about it so I know that I won't waste my money.

if you mean the 2nd one, I hear it has a real let-down ending. I liked the first one myself, it was awsome. Like most, the DS was the first path I took. XD Was gonig to play it again and do LS, but ended up doing Ds again. lol :P

I think the first one was definately tougher. However, if you go sith in the 2nd one the Jedi Masters ARE difficult to beat. The sith are all too easy.

KotorI was very difficult for me because it was my first RPG of that nature. Took me 74 hours to beat it.

KotorII has a GREAT story line, but you are way too powerful way too quick in the game. Or so I think. But there is plenty to do to keep you occupied. Especially if you play dark and then light side.

Ya I hear near the end, theres a plus and negative.
Plus: you are incredibly powerful
Negative: You are incredibly powerful

Everything just drops like flies before you, even the high lvl dudes are like nothing to you. :/

I loved KotOR, it was simply incredible. And ID, it wasn't just you, that game was intentionally hard. It took me around 20 deaths to finally kill Malak. <--- and that was hit him, save, heal and run, save, then hit him again, repeat. He was much easier to kill as DS.

The problem with KotOR II: TSL is Lucas Arts. KotOR II was NOT supposed to be out until like 4-6 months after it came out on PC. So you see the problem already, LucasArts forced it out for the holiday season. That being said, an entire planet and a seperate level on Telos was cut out. Not only that, but dozens of missions. Atris was supposed to have a huge role, Nihilous was supposed to be HARDER than Malak. Not ONLY was the HK droids suppose to come after you, but the Genoharden were supposed to come back after you. Make no mistake, this game is no where near being done. No amount of patches can fix it. LucasArts will also not let Obsidian fix the game with an expansion pack, why you ask? Because Obsidian is already working on KotOR III. There is hope though. As long as you have the game on PC, there is a project. www.team-gizka.org is restoring all the missing data. This should give you an example of the amount of rushing that KotOR II was put through to be released: Most of the missing parts and missions are on your disks. Cut scenes, audio, scripts, everything is still there, just not complete. So TeamGizka is working on all that. Unfortunatly, the Droid World Map was not completed by Obsidian, so TG can't fix that, but everything except that and missions pertaining to it will be restored. The biggest felt loss, was very much the ending. Depending on your alignment or who you had influence with, your companions would fight over you, or die for you. HK-47 was supposed to rescue the Drone at the end. Atton was supposed to "fail" you by being killed by Scion. You are suppose to have closing dialoge with all your people before you leave to go find Revan. So much missing....

Despite all this, the game is excellent. The story is very good. The tweaks and the new ways to level up and interact with people and things is great. It took me 35 hours to beat KotOR with Light Side. It took me close to 50 hours to beat KotOR II with Light Side. Dark Side is indeed the easier path, so I shaved off about 10 hours for each game using DS.

As to the ease of killing everyone, well.... You weren't originally the one who kills Atris like you do now. Remember the pictures of her fighting Nihilous? Sion is alot harder if you are LS and if you AREN'T a Weapon Master of some sort. Kriea is easier if you are LS and aren't a Weapon Master of some kind. The Jedi Masters are of moderate difficulty. The reason you are so powerful, is they had to mess with the game to make it shippable. The level cap is at 50; KotOR was 20. Because of the loss of an entire world, it is impossible to reach 50, so they upped all the stats and the rate you get there. With KotOR, it took most the game to get to level 20; KotOR II, if go to Nar Shada after Telos, you are pretty close to 20. : /

I'd say get the game. Despite all the missing data, this game was a blast. And it has MORE replay ability than its predecessor.
