Ring of Honor Sold, new TV Show Coming

ROH got sold to the company that owns mynetworkTV, previously the home of WWE SmackDown! This means...

1. ROH is the only wrestling company on broadcast TV.
2. ROH will probably no longer feel the need to keep their matches exclusive to TV.
3. A lot more people are going to end up knowing about Claudio Castignoli, Eddie Edwards, Colt Cabana, etc.
4. TNA is now the #3 wrestling company in America.
5. If ROH doesn't pull in ratings/TV execs get tired of it, they're up in smoke like WCW.

Still...pretty exciting shit, IMO. ROH's production values are about to go up, they have a fucking tremendous roster, they actually give a fuck about wrestling, and WWE's annual summer cuts are coming and it seems like more than a few of those dudes might work out for ROH like Haas and Benjamin.

Wooooo, wrestling!

I hope it's Wednesdays. There's not shit on that day anyway. Also, I need to try to find that channel on my tv. I was always forgot to watch Smackdown because of it.

On the downside it looks like I'm going to have to retire my Claudio shirt so weird fucks don't try to talk to me about wrestling.

I bought an American Dragon hat from a merch table once. It wasn't until the next morning that I remembered I don't wear baseball caps.

I see Delirious, Castagnoli, Chris Hero, Colt Cobana, Davey Richards, Homicide, the Briscos, Prince Nana, Roderick Strong and Jim fuckin' Cornette... any one of which is a million times better than whatever IRONIC~ shit circus sideshow act you're obsessed with at the moment.

Though I do agree it pales in comparison to previous years.

Really?

Anyway, turns out Jimmy Jacobs returned last night, so ROH is officially great again.

Well no shit they're not as good as they were in 2006, but if Kevin Steen comes back and they use the SHIMMER roster and a few other people around the indy scene (my heart would bleed if Big Brodie Lee were on TV every week), that'd be awesome.

I went to the show they had in Michigan two weeks ago, and even without Tyler Black, Danielson, Low Ki (who will probably be back), Joe, etc., it was the best wrestling I'd ever seen live, including CHIKARA and MNW-era WWE and WCW, when I was an unforgivable mark and died for glacially paced Hogan/Sting cage matches.

I also thanked Jim for managing VADER. He almost died laughing.

I wonder, however, what effect this'll have on ROH. When they went to PPV, they lost all the dudes who also worked in TNA. When they went to HDNet, they lost Danielson, Low-Ki, and Tyler Black.

They'll lose Grizzly Redwood. Show will never recover.

Although, it may also mean Portia Perez will finally be brought in.

The Thursday 7:00 spot (or 8:00 depending on where you live) is perfect for the show. 1 hour before TNA and on a night nothing of interest is one. After a year or so, they can upgrade to a 2 hour show and can have their night (competing with the WWE would suicide at this juncture, but they maybe stand a chance against TNA..........lol maybe?)

And yeah, ROH has blown away WWE & TNA in terms of quality this year and most of last year. I can't wait. No more waiting for show uploaders on YouTube anymore for me.

They're so going to try to make Hero shave and change his name so they're confident that he's not mocking Christ.

Either that or a really bloody feud with Colt Cabana.

Daizee Haze is done for anyway.
