A sick bastard who walked around in a clown outfit to psyche people out and got his jollies screwing with kids' minds.

As a kid Doink The Clown scared the hell out of me. Now I'm older and looking back you realize how sinister the character was. A truly scary heel. An amalgamation of Stephen King's It with shades of Heath Ledger's Joker. Evidence below.

It's just a shame he went face and the original performer (Matt Osborne) got fired for drug offenses. The guy could cut a mean promo and was solid in the ring. Surely anybody watching wrestling during the 90s will remember this character.

What I was wondering was what the common feeling on him was?. An Awesome Heel. An Awesome Face. Shit Gimmick. Shit Performer. Or something else entirely.

Looking back on Doink he wasn't a bad heel, wasn't a bad face either but made his money with being heel. As for his work rate, it would depend on who was behind the mask, but we all know that Matt Osborne was the better Doink out of the people who played him.

Bring back a Heath Joker inspired Doink as a Heel and he'd be super over

In retrospect I realize the poll might not have been too well thought out. Apologies.
