There is a reason he's been in four out of the five MitBs.

His athleticism (I sound like a commentator here) is usually the only thing I remember from them.

Yep.

Better-looking, too.

He also has a personality that'll carry him farther than one showcase match a year.

Also, how was Punk winning a Russo-like swerve? Crowd didn't like it, but you couldn't possibly think that Christian was going to win in his third week back with the company after what amounted to a three year exile.

He dropped the tag titles in a match that wasn't even shown on TV.

He won the I-C belt against Regal at the third, or even fourth, time of asking.

He lost it without any notable victories or feuds, jobbing aganist JBL in a random match that didn't have any build-up or storyline accumulation.

His run as WWE champion seen him cheekily beat Edge for the belt, then go on to have the worst World Champion reign of any wrestler, anywhere.

And then they go and give him the chance to do it all over again? The chances are he'll win the championship, but given he's not even been given the chance to shine at I-C level, how do they think a sneak-attack championship match will put him over?

Here's how I had them placed in MitB:

Real contenders:

MVP, Christian

Outside chance, but mid-card talent simply here to show what they can do:

Punk, Kofi

No-hopers:

Kane, Finlay, Mark Henry, Benjamin.

And bear in mind no one has ever won it twice on the trot.

Probably not as big a shock as I have it out to be, but it seemed to be a swerve just for the hell of it.

Without HBK vs Taker this would've easily been a 2/10 for a Wrestlemania but that match only made the PPV half-decent. 5.5/10
The Undertaker/Shawn Michaels match a long with Steamboat kicking some arse made ths show, without these Wrestlemania would have been a waste of money, only other good thing was Matt beating Jeff.

I kind of did. Then again I've been looking for a reason for the completely lackluster way he was brought back. Besides, it had a lot more potential for entertainment throughout the mandatory carrying of the briefcase everywhere.

Christian will probably be the guy who feuds with Punk over the briefcase.

As far as WWE is concerned, Punk was the most popular upper mid-card guy in the match, so he won. That's the way its been since 2005, basically.

I was thinking Christian as well, though I haven't watched much lately, and I have no clue of what he's doing.

I still haven't seen the whole show, just the first four matches or so, and certainly the best thing was Steamboat. If they're going to have a match with "Legends", they shouldn't bother calling anyone else.

And MITB needed more Morrison.

There were two good parts of the MITB match.

- Punk getting his foot caught.
- Henry ascending to the top turnbuckle.

The rest of it was shite.

Shelton Benjamin couldn't carry a plate of nachos. He's one of the most dreadful wrestlers I've ever seen.

I thought Undertaker was dead after he botched that plancha.

Yeah, I was quite worried about him and the camera man after that. That was ugly.

That is, without question, the best summation of Shelton Benjamin I have ever seen.

Of course, the best part about that was King trying to act like the camera breaking was actually Taker's skull.

Just finished watchingt he show now (taped a 9pm screening, and needed to get up early the next day). Not the best Wrestlemania, but we (as in my brothers & cousins & I) had a good time watching the event. Thoughts are as follows:

MITB - Eh, nothing too special. Was disappointed that there wasn't more of Mizark and the ladder. Super Kofi was pretty cool though.

KID MOTHAFUCKING ROCK~! - Didn't watch. I went in the next room to clarify some facts we were arguing about. Went on for way too fucking long.

Battle Royale - FUCK YEAH SANTINO. Yeah, nothing special either. Was actually kinda confusing to follow, since most of the divas looked the same, if not similiar. Maybe was just me.

Jericho/Legends - Not too bad. I can't recall who it was that was pulling for a Steamboat comeback tour (I think it was either Of or March, or both), but I shall wholeheartedly support such a thing. Fuck me drunk he was awesome. Oh, and that Rourke thing sucked...but who didn't know that.

Hyoga, I think you were asking if those dudes behind him were wearing Liverpool tops. They were.

Hardy/Hardy - Again, not too bad. That twist of fate at the end was the only thing that I could honestly recall.

Rey/JBL - Didn't watch. I can't stand both - I went to get food instead.

Taker/HBK - What to say that hasn't already been said? MOTN, by fucking far. We got a good laugh out of JR informing us that Taker could not chokeslam HBK from the figure four position.

Also, it was fucking fantastic to read that we weren't the only ones that were concerned with the cameraman.

Triple Threat - Nothing special. Was going to be a hard act to follow anyways. Always good to see Cena easily lift up Show. Though Cena's entrance was TREMENDOUSLY gay.

Orton/HHH - Kinda disappointing really. Not a bad match...but there was something missing.

So yeah, Mania probably wasn't worth the money. Still had a good time though.

Trish probably should have won. Also, she would have had to have dyed her hair blonde again.
