-- Contrary to what was reported online yesterday, Christian Cage was not backstage at last night's Raw in New Orleans, and neither was Val Venis, who he was alleged to have arrived with, reports PWInsider.com. A person wrote to a number of a wrestling news outlets claiming he saw the pair entering the venue. According to numerous sources, both wrestlers were not there. The Sun posted a story on the false report.

As previously reported, Christian's TNA contract has expired and his profile was removed from TNA's website. He hasn't told anyone in TNA if he's returning or not, but the general opinion is that he is gone. The feeling is that he will handle the situation similar to when he left WWE for TNA where he did not speak with anyone and kept his decision a secret.

There is no official agreement with Christian signing with WWE, but the company has made plans for him on Smackdown involving Edge and Jeff Hardy.

TNA President Dixie Carter spoke to DailyStar.co.uk to promote TNA's UK tour, which kicks off today.

Regarding the rumors that Christian Cage is gone from TNA Wrestling, Carter confirmed his departure. "I’m very disappointed," she said. "I like him as a person as well as a talent. It’s interesting, he was the first big name to jump ship to us and he’s been the first to jump back. I wish him all the best."

She also talked about the importance of TNA's presence overseas. "I think this is a special and important market for us." She added it's a market "where the fans have embraced our product on an equal level with the competition – and much quicker." TNA's weekly ratings are competitive with WWE's and "being on par in the ratings is a huge victory for us."

Uh, Dixie, your ratings are on par with ECW ON SCI-FI. Not quite cause to crack open the champagne just yet.

Thought I'd bump this thread for the sole reason that Christian has just showed up on ECW.

I did enjoy The Todd's initial reaction to Christian's suprise return. He had all the enthusiasm of a high school student in the middle of a class lecture.

It could've been worse. He could have lost to the Boogeyman.

People, think about it. If Christian was on Smackdown he'd be overshadowed by his 'brother' and Triple H. If he was on Raw he be a whipping boy for Cena along with Jericho. This way he gets to shine on his own terms. And don't overlook the fact that ECW's "Talent Exchange" means he can show up on Raw or Smackdown if needs be. I heard pople say Christian is on ECW as some kind of burial. I think it's the exact opposite. The ECW title now mid-way between the IC/US and the World title level. It's the final proving ground for a main event spot. Worked for Matt Hardy. Yes, Christian is in the same spot he was when he left. But look at what that spot is, an upper-carder on the verge of the main event. He just needs the right angle or feud make the final jump and this thing with Swagger might be it.

My only problem is that they had him go over Swagger his first night back. They surely could have had someone else to job to him.

They had him beat Swagger via Finlay. No great shakes.

Yep. I just looked up the video after glancing at Sig's KoK... I mean, KOK's sig...

I won't go into debates of whether it's the best show to come back to, or the best opponent, best moment ( Swagger calls out a midget, surprise), or whether it should have been announced previously; you just can't have that or any other guy return and go "It... it's Christian" with that apathy. Instantly Classic indeed, Striker.

Fuck you Todd.

Forget Christian for a moment. When did Boogeyman come back and why wasn't there a big announcement?

They've been airing video packages for like 2 months, and the week before he nearly wormed Noble.

Oh yeah, in case anyone didn't know Noble is on ECW as well.
