Going to see Red Sparowes tomorrow. The support acts look awful.

I did get tickets for Leonard Cohen in London, that's in a few weeks.

I've also been working as a roadie this year so plenty of live music has been available.

Saw Phil Wickham, big time Christian artist.

Really good stage presence. Strong voice. Influential music.

Overall a good experience.

Yup, I saw Ringo play on top of St George's Hall for free earlier in the year.

He's shite, by the way.

Make him play "Octopus's Garden"! And film it. And then masturbate over the footage (or at least I will).

That's what I expect, but fuck, it's an excuse to go someplace with a girl I like and it's free, and it's a nice day outside, so why not?

Zangief (yes, there is a band called Zangief) - Seemed awful at the time, but in retrospect, there are far worse support bands. And they're called Zangief, so I can forgive them.

Asva - Possibly the worst band I've ever heard. Apparently a side project of Sunn 0))), these were a bag of rotten cock. Provided me with the funniest image I've ever seen - picture a room of about twenty bored people, their chubby drummer smacking the symbols rhythmatically with his blonde dreadlocks, and a long-haired Geordie (who had already established himself as a fuckhead) headbanging at the front, the only interested person in the room. There's no way of really getting across how funny and sad it was at the same time, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Red Sparowes - Decent. Must be the biggest gap in quality between a support act and the main event I've ever sampled (except for the time Iron Maiden completely blew Ozzy away) because these were well on top of their game. There were only about fifty of us but we all went away feeling like we'd firstly endured and then shared something.

Really though, Asva have to be heard to be believed. 45 minutes, not a single chord progression.

Finally saw Leonard Cohen.

Was amazing beyond words. Funny, moving, uplifting, depressing, life-affirming, beautiful. Like discovering his poetry all over again.

Ok, I take it back. It wasn't horrible at all.

Apart from the shitty screamo music on the smaller stage, the main show was pretty fucking awesome. Busta Rhymes was fucking hilarious and awesome. The Bravery were very good.

Chris Cornell was fucking amazing. He performed Cochsie, an acoustic version of Like A Stone, and Show Me How To Live and some of his other famous songs, but the best thing about his performance: BLACK HOLE SUN, 10 FUCKING MINUTES. It was incredible.

I am not a huge Linkin Park fan, but they were really awesome.

I hate live music, I hate Oasis, but I think I've just bought six tickets to see them in November.
