At the Smackdown tapings in Dayton, Ohio last night, Vickie Guerrero announced that tag team champions MVP and Matt Hardy would defend their belts against The Undertaker and Kane at Sunday's No Mercy PPV. This will be officially announced Friday night on Smackdown.

Squash.

It had to happen eventually.

And, hey, just look on the bright side (*sigh); at least we'll finally get another potentially awesome US title match at Cyber Sunday . . .

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that its not going to be a squash, but instead possibly awesome.

I don't see the Brothers of Destruction winning. Well, I do, but I don't see them winning the titles.

MVP and Hardy will most likely lose the titles on SD!

I'm going to go with Emil on this one. This could be really good.

That reminds me - has MVP defended his US title in the last 30 days? Doesnt that mean he forfeits it???? According to lame WWE 'regulations' of course.... <_<

If you're a dual champion, that rule is thrown out the window.

The only tribute that matters...er, has wheels.

I'm guessing BOD win the titles, as Glen "Kane" Jacobs expressed supposed desire for one more BOD run before he retires.

Also, thirding possibility of awesome.

I'd welcome this match had it had SOME sort of build up.

Doesn't need a stip. They're decent tag teams that they don't really need one...

So... who do you think will abandon the other in the middle of the match costing them the titles, Matt or MVP?

I'm guessing MVP since he's the heel. Plus he already has the US title so the Tag title isn't that important to him.

I'm guessing that the match will end in a no contest when a fight between teammates breaks out

If they're planning to continue building Hardy and MVP as future stars, I don't see the need for Taker & Kane whatsoever to get the belts from them. Who the fuck would they defend against, the Major Bros, fucking great. MVP & Hardy should still be champs after the PPV, probably a no contest, dq or something. If they beat MVP and Hardy clean it was worthless, just totally, totally pointless.

I don't think this will be a squash, but I am with the general consensus that there should've been SOME sort of build up to this. However, I'm guessing that Undertaker and Kane will either reign with the title, or feud with each other again.

Actually, this match up does have some history, though no immediate buildup.

Matt Hardy has a previous history with both Undertaker and Kane.

MVP has a previous history with both Undertaker and Kane.

Kane and Undertaker obviously have history.

It'll be interesting to see what happens, but its addition is not worth paying $30 for.

I'm hoping Taker and Kane will beat down MVP and when he tries to tag in Matt, he hops down and walks out on MVP amid cheers of the audience.

One thing I don't understand, last Friday, Matt announced MVP was facing Kane and mentioned he got Kane to agree to the match. Well, why would Matt even be talking to Kane. I'd still be bitter about the whole Kane/Lita storyline back in the day.

Nice how you can't understand why Matt is talking to Kane because of the whole 'Kane/Lita thing', but ignore why Kane is joining the Undertaker after Taker almost killed him when they were children.

Love conquers all, I guess.
