Yeah, so, I thought I'd create this thread for whenever there are a are a limited amount of people who can't/won't post in any other topic (due to inactivity, etc.), and are still itching for interaction. The main inspiration for this is the Fuck You Non-Virgins Thread.

This way, you can start a conversation with any one (or more) person, and pick it up at your own convenience. I'll even start you all off:

Which is better; AWT v.1, or AWT v.2?

Im bored - so ill reply.

I liked v1 - im not even sure what the move was for quite honestly. We seemed to have a lot of people, the threads {especially in the WWE/TNA section} had about 3 different topics every day - now theres lucky to be one!!! <_< <_<

NOTE:

The original suggestion wasn't meant to define this thread. I created this as a means for posters to converse/argue with each other about anything, and everything, when the main topics aren't as lively, or popular enough to sustain discussions of their own. Basically, just talk about whatever the fuck you want, 'cause this bizzle is open-ended . . .

This place. Way less faggy and dark. It's like moving from a basement to an apartment. Something many of you should consider.

Does anyone else wish they had Samoan heritage?

Seriously though, why the fuck is his song so popular? It really is the worst rap song I've ever heard.

Oh, and V2 is better. I do miss V1, though.

It's popular because of all the brainless, bubble gum hip-pop fans out there who don't know what to listen to, otherwise. And you're not alone in that realization, Andy; believe me. I'd venture to say that it is not only the worst rap song in the history of the genre, but the worst sone ever recorded PERIOD.

We should so team up on a diss track toward SB, buddy. We'd PWN him into seclusion.

Oh, and:

Lloyd Banks debut album was awesome IMO. Tony Yayo's debut album was decent but nothing terrible, and 50 Cent's Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is one of my top albums in 2003, the Massacre was eh and a huge letdown. Young Bucks album Straight Outta Ca$hville definently showed his potential, and Buck the World was a good follow up. But still, all 4 are good rappers in my opinion. Do you just hate everyone in G-Unit?

There has never been an album by Bow Wow that I liked greatly, but I do own his first album, mainly because I was young and he was young too.

Nelly I feel you are underrating. I think his singles are good, can't speak for the albums for I don't own any.

Lil Jon is for the most part pointless and I agree with you (not that he should die, but that he should quit), although I did like his song Roll Call, and some others of his.

JD has never impressed me.

Ying Yang Twins, some of their songs are annoying. But I enjoyed their album U.S.A and their album Me and my Brother.

Usher isn't rap, so if you are a rap fan, then you shouldn't like him. He's R&B, and as an R&B fan, I have to say that Confessions is a damn good album.

Paul Wall's new album Get Money, Stay True, I was impressed and I felt it was worth a listen.

Diddy is fucking awesome. His album No Way Out, is classic.

As for Soulja Boy, he doesn't bother me as much. As for Crank That, this review summed up my thoughts perfectly. "In the era of the teenage novelty rapper (see everyone from Lil' Mama and Baby Boy Da Prince to Jibbs and Hurricane Chris) Atlanta's Soulja Boy feels more promising than most. This isn't because he's a great rapper; his 16-bar verses are too brief and nonsensical. Rather, "Crank Dat" has formless though palpable energy that is transmitted via a backing track that is deceptively simple, with cuts and loops of scattered lines constantly folding over themselves and playing perfectly into Soulja's aggressive randomness."

I do listen to his one song Stop and Snap on occasion. Not a huge fan, but not a big hater, just in the middle as I am on a lot of rappers.

Marvin Gaye was an r&b singer. Anthony Hamilton is an r&b singer. Usher is a smooth voice and pretty face meant to sell eords to teens. Even amongst simlar artist, Futuresex/Lovesounds is way better than confessions.

It's probably just me, but I can't fucking stand any form of rap nowadays. I especially hate how people think they're black when really they're the whitest motherfuckers in the world whose idea of being gangsta is to look like a fucking tool.

The hypocrisy of this is that I enjoy rap and hip-hop from the late 80's to early 90's. Doggystyle, The Chronic, It Takes A Nation of Millions...all fucking classic. After the whole 2Pac/Biggie thing, well, rap hasn't been as good since. And I can't listen to it because it's the same old "I've got money, I've got bitches" bullshit. I don't fucking care about if you're better than me, nor should anyone else care. And I'm not buying your fucking album or singles or giving you any money so you can keep on preaching about your blinged out cars or how many bitches you have.

Sorry if this sounds really ignorant, but honestly, I can't tolerate the shit that rap has become...

Oh, and as for the AWT V1/V2 debate, I'll take this site, but I miss the stuff we got upto in V1...

Homer's correct. Rap today is the same shit with a different tune. I listened to the old shit, and it's the best rap music you can listen too. MTV edits most of the pointless shit in rap songs that may send a wrong message. Vh1 does the same thing, and sometimes BET, but they need to get over the deaths of Biggee & 2Pac and unedit these words.

Today's rap is shit and anyone who disagrees is a brainwashed, deluded, poor soul of a human being. End of discussion.

Which SNL skits do you think were better: The "What is Love" one or The Celebrity Jeapordy series?

Lloyd Banks does have the potential to be an exceptional talent, but he still pales in comparison to most of the other, more established artists out right now. He probably wouldn't be as big, had he not had access to the luxury of knowing 50 Cent, though. I did enjoy his song "On Fire".

Tony Yayo is lucky he didn't suffer the same fate as Bang'Em Smurf, and should count his fucking blessings that he even knows 50 as a result, because I'm sure we would have never even heard of him otherwise. The man is about as mediocre as they come, and his album wouldn't have been shit without the G-Unit label behind it. Sure, it went gold (snickers), but can you imagine how insignificant his efforts would have been if the album was released on any other label?

50's Get Rich Or Die Tryin' is, indeed, a classic album, but the man's momentum trailed off after the album's release so much so that he's not even the same person he was before recording it. He's gone the way of Nelly, and all the other hip-pop, radio gangster artists in that he's more concerned with making money than he is good music, which is really a shame considering the people with whom he is associated with (Dr. Dre, Eminem, etc.).

And Young Buck is nothing more than a victim of circumstance. He was in the right place, at the right time"; as had it not been for 50's sympathy/desparation to replace the then-incarcerated Yayo, Buck would have ended up faltering as a member of the Cash Money label (God forbid). Sure, Buck The World provides the man with a reasonable amount of promise, but the 2 singles released (Buck The World/U Ain't Going Nowhere) leave much to be desired in terms of quality efforts.

The Game owns each & every one of them in all fields, anyway. That man gave them (G-Unit) credibility that they desperately needed, and will probably never acheive without him (sorry Spider Loc fans, but it's true), but you can thank 50's own insecurities for that brilliant move.

Nelly I feel you are underrating. I think his singles are good, can't speak for the albums for I don't own any.

The only album of Nelly's that is worth owning is "Country Grammar". Everything else after that is shit, because he strayed away from his country roots in order to completely & totally sell out. Fuck him & everything he stands for . . .

Who are you to tell me who I should & shouldn't like?

Anywho, Boricua's post pretty much sums up how I feel about him. And if anyone is impressed with the asthmatic twitches that he calls "dancing", then they can just fuck right off, because I won't hear it . . .

Paul Wall's new album Get Money, Stay True, I was impressed and I felt it was worth a listen.

All southern rap (with the exception of T.I., Lil' Wayne & Ludacris) is shit . . .

Diddy is fucking awesome. His album No Way Out, is classic.

Diddy is a fucking poser; and the only reason he's anything is because of The Notorious B.I.G. (& Skillz; his other ghostwriter). Also, you forget to mention that the album is awesome only due to the other people who contributed to it (i.e. The Family).

As far as Soulja Boy is concerned, he is of no signifigance to myself. He makes snap music, which comes from the South; and as I said before, the majority of Southern rap is shit. It's because of the South that hip hop is dead, and it's because of the South that rap, in general, is almost always pooped on by critics & the public alike. Motherfuckers with no substance in/to their lyrics, who are only concerned with starting the new dance craze, deserve nothing that they have, or will receive in the future, because they're consistently dumbing down the nation with every record sold.

And for those of you who say that all of today's rap is garbage, I put it to you that you aren't familiar with the right artists. People like Eminem, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Common, Lil' Wayne, Method Man, Redman, The Game, Jadakiss, Styles P, Ludacris & T.I., just to name a few, are all worth the effort one takes to pick up one of their records and give it a listen . . .
