I know this probably doesn't belong here, but I think it can be overlooked. Do you think we will ever see a triple threat match in the realm of MMA? I don't believe UFC has ever done one. It is even a viable prospect? Three men facing each other. I realize that a Fatal Fourway would be too much, but I think three might be workable. Do you think it would be a bad idea or would it be a new and innovative match? I only ask because it would be an interesting way to shake things up and as far as I know, would be the first of its kind. Thoughts? |

To my knowledge, this has never been done before in any MMA promotion. A lot depends on individual state athletic commissions, as well as governing bodies in other countries, who may oppose such fights. MMA, as it is today, is still outlawed in a lot of places, forcing promoters to host events on Indian reservations. That would be one way around the law. I think it would be interesting. Not sure if fighters would be too keen. Unlike a standard fight, where the best man generally wins, triple threats would probably see a lot of double-teaming, fighters taking out an opponent and then being sneak-attacked, shit like that. |

I'm gonna say that there will probably never be a triple threat match in MMA. The whole concept of a fair fight where the better man wins would be shattered because of the possiblility of a double team. Baically I agree with Nathan |

It would never happen in America except mabye on an Indian Reservation, and even then it would be fought forever to protect the integrity of the sport. I could see some crazy Japanese promoter trying to pull it off though. Personally, I'd be more interested in tag team MMA, but that probably wouldn't work either. |
