OK, I had been suspicious of exactly this for a long time but PWInsider is reporting it now. TNA's deal with Spike TV expires on September 30th, and the negotiations are pretty much that both sides have agreed to a two-hour deal. The deal is supposed to go into effect in mid-October. Apparently, and this was reported a while back, Spike is likely to move The Ultimate Fighter to Wednesdays.

Other tidbits to note:

-Discussed along with the 2-hour deal was the idea that Spike will air some TNA live specials.

-Another thing reported a while back, around April, was that both parties liked the idea of a 2-hour deal, but the dispute was over money. Spike wasn't thrilled with TNA's average of around 1.05, but they were satisfied. Spike told TNA that with a two-hour deal, they expect an average rating somewhere between 1.3 and 1.4. TNA felt that that was achievable.

-TNA is also talking with FOX to air some other TNA programming, possibly live stuff. If this happened, it would likely be on FX.

UPDATE:

TNA officials informed a number of wrestlers this past Monday in Orlando that the company would be moving to a weekly, two-hour, edition of iMPACT! Starting this October. There is no word on whether they will remain on SpikeTV or move to FOX. TNA has had several meetings with FOX over the last couple months. However, SpikeTV has shown its interest in continuing with Impact as they moved UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter series to Wednesday nights to make room for a two-hour Impact.

iMPACT: Bigger Longer and Uncut is gonna be shite.

That's pretty much a given considering the craptitude of iMPACT: Smaller, Shorter and edited to the sound of "Adrenaline Rush, Adrenaline Rush.. Adrenaline Rush, Adrenaline Rush, NOW!"

Good for them! Are they serious about it?

One Word for them:

FAIL!

Well at least it will give them time to hype ppv matches they don't have Joe, Angle, Sting, Abyss, and Christan involved.

Or it will give them another hour to promote PPV matches featuring Angle, Angle, Angle, Angle, and Angle in.
