Sense, Sensibility, and Sea Monsters There's a pretty big chance that I get way too much enjoyment out of these. It's not as good as the Pride and Prejudice one, but really, zombies are more entertaining than sea monsters. Mansfield Park and Mummies is up next. |

Did I recommend that to you? I think I recommend it to everybody. Anyway, I'm reading America's greatest poet: http://www.amazon.com/Pieces-Intelligence-Existential-Poetry-Rumsfeld/%20dp/0743255976 |

HG Wells' 'War of the Worlds'. It's incredible because you can actually picture it, every little detail. Classic. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're the one who recommended it, but you've ruined my image as FDR as a peace-loving cripple and Churchill as a cartoon bulldog. |

So, after far too much steampunk I've gone back to these. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is surprisingly quite fantastic. Not nearly as silly as I would have expected. Alice in Zombieland was terrible and Android Karenina comes out in two weeks and sounds promising. I'm thinking of taking on science fiction next, but haven't found a starting point. I've got The Left Hand of Darkness and Necromancer on the bookshelf untouched, but haven't made it around to it yet. Any suggestions would be more than welcome. |

A Canticle for Leibowitz. Probably botched the spelling, but there you go. I Am Legend, too. |

Thanks. I Am Legend is going to have to wait until I can get the Will Smith movie out of my head. The other I just reserved. The name's familiar I think I read a short story of his with robot actors in high school. |

I do believe I've just read one of the worst books ever and thus hilarious. To best express this I give you this quote “Fucking her ass. Saving her life.” Which was used in a totally earnest manner. How that hasn't been used in an action movie yet is beyond me. |

Care to discuss? I'm probably not as primed on contemporary British lit as you are, and the last 100 pages or so were brutally disappointing, but I was pretty well entertained the rest of the way. I've also read the graphic novel about the Beats (it sucked), and am going through all the issues of Tom Strong (which is awesome). |
