No really I'm serious, I had to read it for school. I was skipped ahead a year in English. Had to do a paper for it, in fact. Got an 85 as I recall. |

It is, I highly reccomend it. BTW, do you watch Real Time with Bill Maher? I love how he can be so hilarious, then be serious about current issues that is fucking up America, and I usually agree with his viewpoints. |

Unfortunately we don't get Bill Maher on television over here. Everything considered, I have only a fleeting familiarity with his work through YouTube, but it's enough for me to like the guy and acknowledge his intelligence. |

Having ploughed my way through the Funker's book, I'm currently being mesmerized by the elegant language of Lolita. |

What did moi think of it?? It was insightful. Other than a play by Ngugi Won Thiongo, i have never read any work of literature about the colonial experiance from the African perspective. A lot of literary critics call Achebe "the man who invented African Literature" a ridiculous assessment no doubt, however you can see where they are coming from. Reading the novel it felt like Achebe wrote it to counter colonial literature ( ie Racist) without glorifying pre colonial society. Ofcourse the only criticism i have of the novel is that Achebe wrote the novel in english which is totally counter productive according to me. |

I've just finished re-reading Austen's Emma this afternoon. I'm currently on a bit of a female author kick and have decided it's time to give Virginia Woolf a chance, so I'll be starting To the Lighthouse tonight. |

Last night I started reading No Ordinary Joe, the autobiography of Joe Calzaghe who is one of the greatest British boxer of all time and from page one I was hooked. It seems a great book and I picked it up for a reasonable price from Asda. |

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I've been wanting to get back into the Potter universe, and seeing as the Order of the Phoenix film comes out this week, and the final book the week after, it seems logical to read this one. Not too bad, but I've read better... |
