Amazons Attack! sounds pretty fucking awesome as described by Wikipedia:

Quote:

The start of the story begins with Hippolyta being intimate with a man trapped on the island following Infinite Crisis. She appears to be "on the rag," but this dashing young man is intent to go down on her anyway. During Hippolyta's climax the man jumps up from between her legs and screams, "I'm gonna scalp you!" and the reader is able to see that he has applied the "war paint" to his face. Hippolyta immediately beheads the man and vows to never again let a man live while in her sight.

Sometimes, reality is disappointing.

Has anyone been reading the Walking Dead from Image. If not, I highly recommend it and I'll can create some links if you want to read the first 50+ issues for free.

Certain things are good at Image. Kirkman's stuff (Walking Dead, Invincible), and maybe the first two Bomb Queen mini's, just because they're better than Millar's Wanted, but otherwise, "fantastic" is stretching it.

Agreed. Outside of Walking Dead, I don't read anything from Image and haven't quite a few years.

I really hope that's an early April Fool's joke. Not that I mind Alan Moore taking the mantle of Batman, but does he need to be dressed like a teenager from three years ago's wet dream?

So yeah, I've been on a big comics kick lately, picking up Batman Year One, Dark Knight Returns, Arkham Asylum and the Killing Joke. Anything else that I should read?

Just gone done with Arkham, and it's fucking great. Finished DKR last week - same thing. Thinking of moving on to Year One next.

Brother on the other hand is reading Spiderman. More specifically, One More Day and Brand New Day.

Your brother is a retard for that. Smack him with a rolled up newspaper.

Are you specifically looking for Batman comics, or superhero comics, or just comics in general?

Is your brother actually enjoying that tripe?

Also, do they rape you on TPB prices like they do Canadians?

To answer the first question from March, I'm not too sure. I've seen him read it, but I haven't actually asked him what he's thought of it. And it's a borrowed copy, so as soon as he's done, I'm gonna take a gander, just to see if it's as bad as I've heard it is.

As for the second question, I'm not too entirely sure. But being Australia, I'm sure it's bad.

Lance, I'm game for anything. Just for some reason, I've been on a big Batman kick, but anything's recommended. I've heard good things about 100 Bullets, and I've always wanted to check out Preacher and Sandman, so are those worth it?

Yeah, Preacher and Sandman are fine. If you liked Asylum though you're probably ready for more Grant Morrison, in which case it's time for The Invisibles to have sex with your frontal lobe.

Probably DC simply for Vertigo, otherwise it would be Marvel by miles.

David Dobkin Takes on The Flash
Source: MTV October 28, 2007

MTV learned on Saturday at the junket for director David Dobkin's Fred Claus that Warner Bros. has signed the helmer for The Flash. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and David Goyer ("Blade" films) were previously attached to direct.

Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) says his adaptation won't be the character's first appearance in theaters, with the Flash a major part of George Miller's Justice League movie. Dobkin confirmed that his movie will be set in the same universe as Justice League as a direct spin-off.

He added that the Flash they will use is "Wally West."

Created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Harry Lampert, The Flash has the ability to run and move extremely fast, use superhuman reflexes and violate certain laws of physics, like time travel.

Wally West? Fuck it i want Barry Allen as for the director, fuck me silly, what an embarassment.

And Green Lantern Gets a Director, Too!
Source: Variety October 28, 2007

While no casting on George Miller's Justice League movie has been confirmed, names seemingly are pouring in for the projected spin-off movies starring the various members of DC Comics' greatest superteam.

According to Variety, the latest name to be thrown into the ring to direct a Green Lantern movie for Warner Bros. is Greg Berlanti, a television writer and executive producer who is responsible for shows like "Dirty Sexy Money," "Brothers & Sisters," "Everwood," "Jack and Bobby," and "Dawson's Creek."

Berlanti, who directed the 2000 feature The Broken Hearts Club, will co-write the script with "Brothers & Sisters" co-writer Marc Guggenheim, who has a good amount of comic book writing experience, and Michael Green, the co-executive-producer of NBC's hit show "Heroes."

Hal Jordan! FUCK YEAH! As far as this director goes, eh could have worse, from what i remember wasn't Dawson into comics? So perhaps the director is in the know!

I'm trying to save excitement until after it's a little more of a lock and the rumors start pouring in about what actor gets to be Hal... and it better be Hal. Seriously, if it goes through and it ends up being Jack Black as Kyle Rayner... I'll cry a lot.
Ryan Reynolds is a pretty terrible choice too, but the cast overall looks shit, so that's something.

Thread bump!

Batman and Robin and The Return of Bruce Wayne were both fine. Just when I thought Quitely was definitely my fave artist, Frazer Irving comes back into my life.

I haven't followed Batman Inc.. In honesty, the only thing I want Morrison to do now is the third Seaguy, not mildly interesting superhero comics.

After telling myself I was done with X-Men years ago, I've looked at some of the stuff Warren Ellis and Matt Fraction have been doing. It's very solid genre work.

I need to catch up on The Boys.

So, Piper's voicing Bolphunga (yeah, I know) in Emerald Knights. There's an interview up, but this is the most important part.

WWE.com: Did you ever read comics at any time in your life?

Piper: No, in fact, I’m the guy that walked into Stan Lee’s office and said “next time you do Batman, I’d be a great villain,” and then I found out that Stan Lee didn’t create Batman. So, I didn’t really have any background on the comics or the universe going into the role.

I'm totally picturing this now.

He's not wrong though. He would be a great villain for a Batman movie. Stan Lee should have jumped on that.

I mostly just wanted to add that Nathan Fillion was awesome voicing Hal and obviously Henry Rollins doing Kilowog was genius.
