Linkin Park- Given Up Pretty far and away the best track of the new album in my opinion, this song takes lyrics that would likely cause most to cry "EMOLOL" and puts them with such ASS KICKING music and intensity that it turns that concern on its ear. Considering the sucky day I've had, this song really is a musical catharsis. |

Maroon 5- Makes Me Wonder Catchy as all fuck. Damn you, Andy, for pointing this out! I wasn't a huge fan of the song till you pointed out how damn catchy it was, gave another listen, and was hooked. |

Told you how catchy it was. I was listening to it a few times this morning and each time it kept my foot tapping. Incubus - "Aqueous Transmission" This is the final song off Incubus's great album "Morning View" and it's absolutely amazing. It goes close to 8 minutes and it's so relaxing and peaceful. Some Japanese instruments were used in the beginning and it just makes you feel calm and relaxed. Slow song, but the lyrics are beautiful. I love the final minute, all you hear is frogs croaking. Fantastic song, and one of my favorites at the moment. |

Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline Every I could ever want in a song. A jaunty rhythm. Orchestral backing. Sing-a-long-ability. A climactic feel to the chorus. A raspy voice. Diamond is full of win, and the sooner you realise that, the greater your life will be. Also, the bit leading up to the final chorus, with Neil sounding like his voice is about to go the same way as his career did is perfectly placed, perfectly placed. Not as good as Mr. Bojangles, but that goes without saying... |

Gotta agree cowards. Possibly, IMO, the only reason and song Neil will be remembered for. Cats in the Cradle - Harry Chapin IMO, I find it sad that Harry Chapin, the original singer, died prematurely and because of this sad and ironic twist of fate, was unable to see his son grow up and his son grow up without a dad. Very Touching. I like the song though, it's a song I can relax too. However, the ugly kid joe version sounded more powerful as they changed the song to suit rock, instead of classical-esque. It didnt sound bad, nor did it sound excellent. I like listening to it, but harrys version feels more "real." |

Eh Hee by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds I can't wait for August 14th, because this live album is going to fucking rule. The song, while having one of the dumbest titles I've ever seen is an improvement over some of the number titles Dave has used for some of his songs I guess. |

"A Day in the Life" - The Beatles Got the whole Anthology set from my cousin and I heard the whole album. I thought this one was great. I think it was because Paul McCartney messed up a line and everybody stops and Paul is like Oh Shit! Classic moment for me. |

Sweet Up and Down by Dave Matthews Band They hadn't played this song in nearly 7 years, and now that it's back; I couldn't be happier to give up $100 to go see DMB at Alpine this year. |
