Kate Nash-Pumpkin Song

A song I shouldn't like, but for some inexplicably reason, do.

Kate Nash must be great to be with, but if you ever break up with her you'd always have the worry she'd write a song about the size of your dick.

Not as good as Foundations, which is decent apart from the spoken work sections, which would shit on any decent song from a great height.

Caroline's a Victim is just terrible, though.

Agreed, on all accounts.

'Mouthwash', I enjoyed, despite its obvious faults.

Israel Kamakawiwo´ole - "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World"

If you live stateside, you've probably heard the beginning of this song in a commercial or two. I found the full version on youtube, and it's incredibly soothing. I never thought a huge Hawaiian guy with a ukelele could make such beautiful music.

After missing this the first time around, I'm now so glad I decided to read this thread again. That dude really is awesome.

Do You Want To - Franz Ferdinand

Danceable song. Might be repetitive, but very catchy. Oh Yeah:

Fleetwood Mac - Songbird

"Aww, Mr. Cowards... Whyya you cry?" That's what those European scamps would say to me were they to witness me listening to this.

And I seem to be listening to beautiful love songs a lot more these days. "Your Song", "Avalon" "Songbird"... All wonderful songs, but my cajones seem to have receded or summin'.

Its only Divine Right - New Pornographers.

In actuality, I have no idea who sings THIS song. The original song is from the new pornographers though, but it was sung in this guys best Michael McDonald voice. Definitely worth a listen.

"Love Remembered" - Wojciech Kilar

Despite Bram Stoker's Dracula being a huge disappointment after reading the book, the score was awesome.

"Kid Charlemagne"- Steely Dan

A song inspired by the life of Owsley Stanley, a prominent figure in the glory days of the San Francisco LSD scene. Contains the lyric "look at all the white men on the street". Good stuff.

I just got Lupe Fiasco's new album, Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. In one word: terrific.

The entire album shows Lupe's versatility as a musician. The album starts of with a strong spoken word poem performed by his sister and then a great introduction song, which has to be the best I've heard since Nas' Stillmatic intro. Oh, and Food & Liquor fans, don't worry, Lupe still continues his amazing lyrics. Whether it's about the pressure of Superstardom, the struggle of being from the streets or about sociopolitical problems; Lu proves why he's the best lyricist since Nas. He also shows some emotion on this album with a couple of love songs, a track about his pet peeve of material items, and his street single Dumb it Down, which has to be the ultimate "fuck you" to anyone who told him to change his style. And "The Cool" mini story that was in the album is definitely worth a listen and it has to be one of the most creative things I've seen an artist come up with lately. If your still not sold, his album features a guitar solo. Yeah, you heard me, a guitar solo in a rap album. There are still some discrepancies I still have with the album, but for the most part the record is great. I recommend you get the entire album, but if you just want a sample, some of stand out songs on the album were Go Go Gadget Flow and Hi-Definition ft. Snoop Dogg. The entire album is pure gold, and it makes the wait for Lupe Fiasco's third and final studio album LUPend bittersweet.

Hip Hop is dead Nas? I don't know, 'cause right now Lu is rocking it.

It's a shame he's retiring after his next album. A damn shame.

This is one of my favorite Beatle songs of all time, but I had forgotten about it for a while. THank God it came up on random on my MP3 player the other day, I might have forgotten about it completly.

Are either of you aware as to why he is supposedly retiring? And what's the deal with this trend, anyway? I read somewhere that The Game isn't going to put out any more albums after his tentative third; and if that's the case, then rap is going to take a mighty blow from his, and Lupe's absence.

At least Lil' Wayne is going anywhere anytime soon (hopefully). Plus, there's still an Eminem and Dr. Dre album to look out for in the coming year . . .

Well, this is what he had to say about his retirement...

"My whole energy for making hip-hop music is slowing down. I’ve been doing it for seven years. I still don’t think I’m famous."

On the bright side, he's just going to stop making anymore studio albums, so he will be producing some more albums in his record label, and he also has his super-group with Kanye West and Pharrell going on, so I guess it isn't too bad.
