"Angel" Jimi Hendrix I used to think this song was corny compared to his other stuff, but what grabs me about this song are A. the sound he achieved by playing his guitar through electric organ speakers and B. the very fitting drumming, specifically the rolling cymbals. All in all it creates a very comforting, somewhat ethereal sound. |

Funkadelic - "Maggot Brain" (with headphones) Some kind of daily ritual, like brushing my teeth or taking a nice toasty dump, only it doesn't make me smell as nice. |

Ca$his - "Lac Motion" This is one of Eminem's newest proteges, and, needless to say, he's awesome. I predict he'll blow up very soon, which would be more than deserved due to his ability. And whilst the lyrics aren't anything you haven't heard before, his flow is tight, and the twang in his voice is sure to attract many fans . . . |

Annie Lennox- Into the West Many know this song as the music that plays at the end credits of Return of the King. This is such a beautiful song. Annie Lennox has a very ellegant and soothing voice in this wonderful piece. It puts me at so much ease, no matter how much my day sucked. |

The Warmest Room - Billy Bragg It's a sweet song, leaves the warm and fuzzy feelings. I'll admit it's not his most poignant or socially aware song, but not everything needs to be heavy. Anyway, my music playing has been a bit heavy on Billy Bragg and folk music in general lately. |

Tumbling Dice - The Rolling Stones Perhaps the most awesome song by the Stones. Every element of the song works perfectly in harmony, and is just really fucking good... |

Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Wet Sand" Bah gawd. In my opinion, this is one of their best songs ever. Frusciante really shows his skills here. His guitar solo at the end is absolutely brilliant. One of my favorite songs at the moment. |

Silversun Pickups - "Lazy Eye" Don't know much about the band, but I absolutely love this fucking song. It's so soothing, so mellow, that I don't see how anyone couldn't . . . Do yourself a favor and give it a listen, if you haven't already of course. |

"Let Me Ride" Dr. Dre The Greatest re-working of a song in rap history. I still prefer Parliament's original "Mothership Connection" (And if you're a fan of Dre's but haven't heard the music that inspired him, get to it), but this bassline is nice as fuck, definitley one of the best ever. |

I'm on itunes browsing a series of albums that offers jazz re-interpretations of popular 80's and 90's songs. "Black Hole Sun" sounds intriguing, as do a few others, but some are just plain wrong, especially what they did to Purple Rain. |
