Malachi walked down an empty hall. There were too many people here who annoyed him. You'd think that even the dungeons would be nicer, considering how new the school was, but no... they'd already bred mildew and mold. He glanced at the walls in disgust.

Malachi was fuming. Who did they think they were? All those people out there, thinking that they had any right to be here. Thinking that they stood a chance. He'd heard them all whining about their parents, their friends. Did they even try? If he'd been there, and not... wherever the hell he'd been, he'd have kicked some major dementor butt. He paused, well... maybe not. He'd probably have laughed as the others ran around in terror, watching them as they fell flat on their faces.

His fist flung out, and hit a door he hadn't seen. His eyes narrowed as he stuck his head in, looking for anyone who would be lurking around. No one would ever catch him by surprise, he made sure of that. At first glance, it was just an empty room, but after he squinted through the dark and the dust, he saw the remains of an old chalkboard.

Malachi gripped his wand tightly, his internal dialogue never ceasing. He could have told you which ones would have died, no questions asked. There were still a few that surprised him, though. Like that Cromwell brat. From such a good family, just look at the wonders his parents did, and the kid ended up so soft.

Malachi looked at his surroundings. For such a new school, there was an awful amount of abandoned places. Not that he minded. His face twisted unpleasantly, and his muscles tensed as someone behind him laughed, a laugh that he was all to familiar with...

She decided to roam the castle that evening. Classes hadn’t started yet, and the all too familiar sense of boredom had begun to set in. After she delivered a letter to the Owlery, she made her way to depths of the Patronus Academy. She wouldn’t have admitted it to anyone, but she missed Hogwarts. She missed her old dungeon lair that had practically been her home for the past five years. Now she was a snake trapped in a tower. She sneered at the fact that she was now a ‘Raven’, it disgusted her and probably always would.

Her black dress blended her in with the darkness of the dungeons of the castle as continued her descent. She didn’t have a particular destination, for a moment she merely wanted to pretend that she was on her way to the old common room beneath the lake with the green hue of the water shining in the windows of the large room. The black leather couches she had made herself comfortable on many a time during her cramming sessions, her mother’s erratic voice humming in her ear as she studied. She was a Dranzer, and therefore was expected to do great things, anything less than that was considered a miserable failure, and Bellatrix couldn’t have that. Her parchment couldn’t even have crinkles.

As she reminisced silently over her beloved Slytherin common room and the years she had spent with it as her home she was interrupted by a loud bang of a door coming from a hallway she had just passed. She grinned darkly and pulled out her wand. She didn’t know what had made the noise, or who, but she intended to find out. She turned on her heel and headed down the corridor, her hips swinging in their usual provocative manner as she walked. The few curls of her bangs blew softly as she walked, the rest was tied up into a dark, elegant bun, a few ringlets adorning her neck. Her flats padded the stone floor softly as she came upon an opened door of an abandoned classroom.

She gripped her wand tightly and walked into the room. Her chocolate eyes fell upon someone she hadn’t expected to see, Malachi Stewart. Looks didn’t do much for her, but something about this boy secretly drove her crazy, perhaps it had to do with the boy’s dark demeanor. He had always appeared to be as heartless as she was, if that was possible. He hadn’t murdered anyone and had been completely thrilled by the event, at least not to her knowledge anyway. She let out a bark of laughter at the boy who made the raucous. There apparently was no reason for the uproar that reverberated through the basement of the castle, they were standing in an empty classroom with nothing but an old chalkboard.

“Well, what do we have here,” she said with dark amusement, lowering her wand as she closed the door silently behind her.

Malachi turned to face the girl. She had a sweet face, but underneath it was someone with a purpose, someone like him. He loved the irony of it all, that someone so perfect was trapped inside of such a delicate frame. Bella played it up, though, he could tell. That little black number she had on, was a very strategic thing. It was meant to draw attention, and it did.

“Well, what do we have here,” the girl mused at him, enjoying every syllable with a tantalizing purr. Malachi's eyes watched her like a hawk, he knew he couldn't trust her, she was the kind of person you watched your back around. It was infuriating, and he looked forward to it, here was someone to match him, someone who was just as willing as he was to do whatever it took to get what they wanted.

"Bella," he let out a husky breath, the corner of his mouth curling. His shoulders were rounded as he strode across the classroom, watching her stand there. She closed the door. He stalked around her, his deep brown eyes never leaving hers. "I'd say it was good to see you, but then we both know I'd be lying." He paused behind her, brushing a stray hair from her neck. "Nice dress," he whispered, smirking as he left her side, leaning against the door, and taking a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket. With a flick of his wand, it was lit, and smoke was unfurling from inbetween his lips and fingers.

The boy was devilishly handsome as he turned to face her, his deep brown eyes having a certain fierceness to them that only brought an evil smirk to her face. ”Bella,” he said in a husky voice, the corner of his lip curling as he began to make his way over to her. She smiled darkly in a snarl like fashion at him, her dark eyes glaring into his. The boy had seemed to grow more amusing since the last time they had spoken, something she appreciated more now than she would have at any other time. He strode in her direction, seeming to stalk around her, reminding her of a vampire. ”I’d say it was good to see you, but then we’d both know I’d be lying,” he continued, pausing behind her. ”Nice dress,” he whispered, his warm breath licking her skin as he brushed a few curls from her neck. She smirked devilishly at him as he moved away from her, smirking as leaned against the door.

He pulled out a cigarette and flicked his wand to light the tip, the smell of tobacco filling the air. The aroma always attracted her for some reason. Her dark eyes pierced into his as she made her way over to him, her hips swinging in seductive perfection, something she didn’t even know she did. “I didn’t think you’d even say such a thing in the first place,” she mocked. She stopped when only an inch of space was between them. Her chocolate eyes stared up at him in dark amusement. She didn’t realize how tall he was, although no one ever seemed tall to Bella. “You’ve gone soft, Malachi,” she slurred in vicious humor as she took his cigarette out of his mouth and took a long drag, raising her eyebrows at him.

Bella sauntered over to him. Malachi licked his lips as her eyes tried to break through his boundries. “I didn’t even think you’d even say such a thing in the first place,” she was mocking him. He narrowed his eyes at her. She stopped barely an inch from him, looking rather pleased with herself. “You’ve gone soft, Malachi,” she whispered at him. His eyes flashed in anger as she plucked the cigarette from his mouth, and took a drag. He couldn't help but watch her lips as they met where his had been not moments before.

Malachi raised an eyebrow. "I'm a man, Bella, and with that dress," he chuckled, "Soft isn't quite the word." He pulled his face away from hers, lighting another cigarette, and grinning smugly. He watched her face as the smoke rolled in his mouth, his lungs, and returned to play across his lips, and into her face.

A hint of what was perhaps irritation veiled over Malachi’s face at her words as he raised an eyebrow. ”I’m a man, Bella, and with that dress,” he chuckled softly. ”Soft isn’t quite the word.” Her eyes flashed as she let out a bark of laughter. He continued to amuse her, yes, her beauty was something she’d always taken pride in, but even she thought it was funny for any man to insinuate any reference of making love to a witch who’d poison you without thinking twice. The smoke from his mouth blew by her face and she quickly returned the favor as she let out a puff of smoke from her lips. She took another drag and relaxed her shoulders, the strap over her left shoulder slipping off and resting softly on her arm.

Without a care she turned away from him and took a few steps back, her hips swinging tauntingly as she wished there was a place to sit aside from the floor. “I thought you needed at least a few inches of wood though,” she mused darkly. Toying with the male ego was a favorite hobby of hers. She turned back towards him wearing a crooked smile, her chocolate eyes twinkling a little in the dimness of the empty room. Bella might have been able to wear sex appeal on her sleeve flawlessly, but she had in fact never even been kissed, something that most people wouldn’t guess by looking at her. She smirked at him as she took another drag, and crossed her left arm under her right elbow, the strap falling a little farther off her shoulder. “Sorry to ruin things for you, but you won’t find a Serpent common area anywhere down in this dump,” she commented absentmindedly as she flicked the ash off her cigarette, eyeing the boy in front of her.

Bella's smoke blew in his face, and he grinned wickedly. She swished away from him, taunting him the whole time. “I thought you needed at least a few inches of wood though,” she murmured in dark humor. She continued to smirk at him. He flicked his finger impatiently at the cig in his hand, the ash floating away. His jaw tightened.

She broke eye contact and for the first time since Malachi could remember, she said something absentmindedly. “Sorry to ruin things for you, but you won’t find a Serpent common area anywhere down in this dump,” she muttured.

Malachi laughed darkly. "I wasn't looking for one." He let a breath of nicotine rush to his head. He watched her with predatory eyes. He peered down at her. His look was calculated as he took her face in his large right hand, looking her over as one would a fine piece of art. "But maybe," he said softly, "Miss Dranzer, you were." He let his gaze linger on her before laughing it off. He brought his cig to his lips again as he lowered his gaze, not letting her see the emotion in his eyes. They were without a home. Their kind didn't belong here, not anymore. "You should be more careful, Dranzer," he sneered at her.

”I wasn’t looking for one,” he laughed darkly. She seemed to snap back to reality at his laughter. She hadn’t really thought about what she said, her reminiscing had ceased being silent for a moment. He came towards her and took her delicate chin in his right hand and tilted her face up to his, seeming to examine her. ”But maybe,” he continued softly. ”Miss Dranzer, you were.” A flare of anger boiled in her stomach as he released her chin, chuckling softly. Her lip curled at him. ”You should be more careful, Dranzer,” the boy sneered.

Another small bark of laughter escaped her lips as she took another drag of her cigarette. “More careful? What exactly should I be more careful of?” She mocked his small threat. Her wand was ready the entire time, she didn’t need anymore assurance than that. And she knew things that would shock even Malachi Stewart. She smiled darkly again as she made her way back over to him, this time leaving no space between them now and peered her brown eyes into his. “So how’d you like the soul vacuum?” She joked with a sneer as she took one final drag of her cigarette and put it out with a flick of her fingers.

“More careful? What exactly should I be more careful of?” she hissed at him. Bella didn't stop at an inch this time. She came right up to Malachi, sneering at him. “So how’d you like the soul vacuum?” Malachi froze.

"Ah, Bella," He smiled sadly, "You really do have a lot to learn." He threw his cig to the ground. Her scent wafted up to him. Sweet and sinister. He glared at her. "Like I wouldn't expect this from you." He grasped her wrists, pinning them behind her. The lengths of their bodies were pressed together. There was no point in denying it, he'd almost been fooled, but almost wasn't nearly close enough.

Dranzer was quick on the draw, and he wouldn't have enough time to tame the girl before she did some serious damage, so he did the only thing he could think of... he kissed her. His lips met hers forcefully, like everything else about him, a whirlwind. One of his hands slid around her graceful neck, holding her face to his, the other maintaining it's iron grip on her arms. He held her against him, letting his fury and frustration with her pour out of him. He pulled his face away from hers, opening his eyes to stare into hers, and then fled through the door, slamming it closed behind him.

"Ah, Bella. You really do have a lot to learn," he said throwing his cigarette on the ground. A dark glare spread across her face at his words, he really was full of himself. An annoyance, yes, but he used it well. "Like I wouldn't expect this from you," he finished his thought as he grabbed her wrists and pinned them behind her back. A large flare of anger ignited inside of her. How dare he lay a finger on me, she thought her fists clenched, ready to grab her wand at the first chance.

But there was none, he pressed his body forcefully against hers and to her surprise, which she would never admit to anyone but maybe Issy that she didn't quite mind it, he kissed her. Sliding a hand behind her neck he held her face kissed her in all his rage and she kissed him back, her anger and annoyance at the new surroundings and at the company coming out in one smooth action. And just as quickly as it happened, it was over. He let go of her and without so much as a quick glance he left the room, slamming the door shut behind him.

Her jaw clenched as she stood there for a moment in surprise, but quickly retrieved her wand and ran out the door after him. "MALACHI STEWART!" She yelled at him, he stopped and turned towards her. She slowed her pace and walked tauntingly towards him as if she were going to make the moment sweet. Although her wand was read, she decided to be a bit more lady like first. As soon as he was in reach she looked up at him, a smile ruefully spread across her face as she swung her hand back and slapped him with a raging force across his face, a cracking sound echoing throughout the hall.

"Touch me like that again, and you won't have a head anymore," she snapped viciously, her dark eyes boring into his.
