[[ I am allowed to Mod Kodi entering ]]

The library was empty when Avery walked into the large room. She could not believe that no one else was in there. This is not too bad, Avery thought with a smile, I like that no one else is here. It means no one will yell at me for having some crackers and water in here as I study. Studying was something that Avery found herself doing all the time. Her grades were very important to her, so she always made a huge effort to study and do well in school. Charms were really her thing, her spell work and wand work was actually very good. Practicing was something that she oddly found to be soothing and relaxing. That was not why she had come into the library, though. Avery figured that her Charms homework was perfect and did not need to work on it. Right now, she really needed to read up on some Potions notes and try to remember how to do the homework. She looked around for the book she needed and then made herself comfy at a table. Avery was glad that she had decided to work in just some old sweatpants and her favorite white tank top with light yellow hearts on it. This outfit was so comfy and not embarrassing because no one else was there to look it.

After about thirty minutes of studying, Avery was getting a little bored. This was not her favorite subject. Plus, she was lonely. This is so freaking boring, Avery thought while sighing. At least if someone had been in there with her, she would have had someone to talk to. She really just wanted company now and anyone would do. At that very moment, she heard the library door open and close with a small thud. Finally, someone is joining me. After waiting a minute and not seeing anyone, Avery started to wonder if she had just thought she heard the door, but really it was just a book falling or something like that. However, a few second later Avery saw shoes under a bookshelf. "Hello?" She called out softly upon seeing the shoes, hoping the person would reply.

Kodi tossed and turned in her bed. A low moan escaped her lips. She was sweating and kept grabbing onto her pillow.

She was back in her her hospital and strapped to a table. Doctors and nurses were hovering above her. One of them had a scalpel in his hand. There was blood on it. Her eyes flashed down to his hand. Her hospital gown was pulled up to reveal half her stomach. Her stomach had been cut just above her belly button and crimson blood poured out. She couldn't hear what the doctors were saying, because their voices were muffled by their masks, but they seemed worried. Frightful? One of the nurses suddenly curled her hand around Kodi's and squeezed. What the hell was going on? Why was she being operated on? She tried to speak, but couldn't move her mouth. She realized then that there were tubes sticking out of her nose and her mouth. She could hear the faint beeping of her heart and brain monitors. The lights above her head began to flicker and slowly, everything began to change. The nurse dropped her hand and left. The doctor who held the scalpel moved to her throat. She couldn't move. Couldn't scream. He glared down into her eyes and---

Kodi's eyes shot open and she sprang into a sitting position. Holy fuck. She felt her face. She was wheezing, and her heart was beating so hard against her ribcage she was sure it would explode. "It was just a nightmare, Kodi. You're fine," she tried to reassure herself. Only, she didn't feel fine. She felt ill. This had to stop. The nightmares. The flashbacks. Everything. She wasn't herself anymore. She hadn't been herself since the very first night she had stayed in Mr. Adler's cabin. Swallowing, she swung her legs over the side of her bed and took a deep, calming breath. It didn't help. Where was Kaedyn? She always woke her up if she was having a nightmare. Her sister was always there for her. Lately, she felt disconnected with her. Sighing, she ran her nails through wavy, blond hair. She needed to get out of here. Kodi ran into the bathroom and splashed some cold water on her face. There. That helped a little. Shoving her wand in her pocket, Kodi slipped out in the corridor. It wasn't after curfew just yet. Why couldn't she get better? She was taking her medication. Reluctantly, but still. She hadn't missed a single session with her psychiatrist. So why the fuck was she still..well, crazy? She didn't expect to get better right away, but nothing seemed to be working. She came to an abrupt halt in front of the library. Maybe she could find a book about her disorder. It never hurt to try.

The Raven yanked open the door and slipped inside. It was empty. Whoa. That was a change. Usually somebody was in the library. Sure the school year had come to an end, but really? A soft sigh escaped her lips as she walked up and down the aisles. She was such a burden on her family. An embarrassment. The black sheep. Kaedyn was normal. Nothing had happened to her. Kodi loved her twin very much, but sometimes, she wished just something would go wrong for her sister. A boy rejecting her. Or for her to trip during one of her cheer routines. Anything to prove that Kaedyn wasn't perfect. But she was. Kaedyn was the perfect one and Kodi was the sick, deranged one. She titled her head and scanned the titles of the books on the shelf before her. Her eyes light up when she saw a book on mental disorders. Yes! Just as she was about to pull it off its shelf, a voice startled her, causing her to nearly jump out of her skin. "Hello?" So she wasn't alone. Kodi poked her head around the corner of the shelf, blue eyes falling on a girl, sitting alone at a desk. She had books open in front of her. A water bottle and some crackers. Maybe having a simple conversation with someone would help. Shrugging, she sat down across from her. "Hi," she said softly. Um, studying?" she asked, gesturing toward the girl's book. She looked familiar, but she had never spoken to her before. Er, right? Oh, Merlin. What if one of her personas had? She hoped things weren't about to get awkward.

Studying really was not happening for Avery right now. It was too late to be looking at all of these lines and lines of text, and it was just a little too quiet. It was then that Avery remembered that she had gotten a letter today from her mother. Pushing some of the books and papers aside, she pulled the letter out of her purse and opened it. She smiled as she read it.

Hey Avery-Girl!

We miss you so much, baby! Your sisters must ask about you every hour on the hour. Sometimes I feel like you are the only topic of interest in our house. Anyway, I just thought I'd update you on a few things, First and foremost, you are a star and we love you more than anything and wish you were home with us! Second, Anna has discovered that she loves tennis and wants to play you when she sees you next. She could even give you a run for your money. She beat me and I actually played the best I could. She takes after you! Third, your littlest sister, Miss Ayden, won her spelling bee at school. Oh Avy, if you could have seen her little face. It was far too priceless. I guess all of that studying you two did when you were hear paid off. Also, daddy and I are doing just fine. Dad has been working a ton lately and only gives us a wee bit of attention when he is home, but he promises that next month will be better. Finally, we still do not have any updates on your brother. I'm sorry, I know I told you in the last letter that we should have some updates, but none have come. I'm sorry. Anyway, we love you Avy Baby! Behave and we will see you soon. Lots of love!

Love,
Mom, Dad, Anna, and Ayden

Avery gave the girl a warm smile as she sat down across the table from her, when she finally looked up from her letter. The girl was very pretty, with her blonde hair and blue eyes. Avy knew that she had seen this girl around school before, or a girl who looked very much like her. Her twin, maybe? Avery was not sure. Not that it really mattered, just as long as this girl did not turn out to be some sort of crazy person, like so many other people, she thought she could have a nice conversation with the girl. "I was," She said this with a small grin and a little chuckle, answering the Raven's question. Even though Avery came into the library to study, she knew that it was not going to last very long. Studying is something she does all the time, but it was kind of late and she did not want to make it so she was too tired. Plus, she was much more interested it reading the letter she got from home, "But then I remembered that I had this letter from home, so I started to read it. My little sister, Ayden, just won her spelling bee at school. She is so excited. I am, too. She has been working so hard at this for so long and Ayden and I went over words for..." Avery's cheeks turn a light red and she left her voice trail off after realizing how she had just went off about her little sister to someone she did not even know. "Sorry," She said with a light laugh, "I'm a proud older sister." It then dawned on Avery that she should introduce herself to this girl, who probably thought that Avery was insane. "I'm Avery. Avery Bradbury, by the way."

Kodi studied the girl carefully. She was transfixed on a letter. "I was." Finally, the redhead looked up at her and smiled."But then I remembered that I had this letter from home, so I started to read it----" It happened faster than usual; the girl sounded very far away, and Nikki's voice filled her head. Briliant. Just fucking brilliant. She's a pretty one, isn't she? Do you know what they say about red heads? Let me find out. Kodi's nails dug into the wooden chair. Don't event think about! Leave. Stop it. Shut up. Nikki taunted. "---just won her spelling bee at school. She is so excited. I am, too." Kodi nodded feverishly. She was only hearing half of what the chatty girl was saying. Blah blah blah. Does she ever shut up? I bet her hair is really silky. Touch it. Actually, kiss her. Kodi nearly fell of the chair. I'm not kissing her! She's a girl. Yeah? And? Nothing wrong with a little girl-on-girl love. Well, duh. Kodi knew that. She was very open-minded. But she liked guys. Just guys. I don't even like girls! Are you sure? Of course she was sure. She wasn't about to a kiss a girl! Plus, she would probably really freak this girl out.

"Sorry," came the sudden reply from the girl sitting across from her. I bet her lips are so soft. She looks like she'd be a wild one. Kodi rolled her tongue around in her mouth, trying to keep her cool. "I'm a proud older sister." And a hot older sister. Before Kodi could stop herself, she exploded. "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!" Blue eyes widened immediately. . A hand flew to her mouth. Way to go, Kodi, Nikki snickered. Shit. She winced at the other girl's expression. "I-I didn't mean you. I-I meant..." she trailed off, biting her tongue. She couldn't exactly tell her. Luckily, the girl continued to talk as if nothing had happened. "I'm Avery. Avery Bradbury, by the way." She let out a sigh of relief. "K-Kodi. Kodi Donovan." She smiled weakly at her. Kodi and Avery sitting in a tree. K-i-s-s-i-n-g. You know, you two would be wicked hot together. Do you think she's good in bed? Shut up. She couldn't take this anymore. She deserved to be locked away in her old room at her hospital. Permanently.

Avery blinked a few times when Kodi yelled at her to shut up. However, it did not seem as though she was yelling it at her. I wonder why she just yelled at, Avery thought to herself while she tilted her head to the side a bit, I really do not think she is talking to me. Maybe she is telling her inner voice to shut up, Avery tried not to giggle to herself at that. An inner voice. That was insane; no one would ever do that unless they were crazy or something. Oh well, She thought with a small sigh, I guess I'll just never know why she yelled that. Maybe it is because I sound like someone she does not like? I do not know anyone else at this school with an Irish accent, but that does not mean she doesn't know someone....Oh this is so stupid...I have to snap out of this. Looking back up at the girl, she continued with what she was saying. Not that it really mattered; Avery was just making small talk with this girl she had never seen before. It seemed as though this girl was nervous about something she was not saying. "Kodi," Avery said in her sweet voice, "That is a very nice name. It is so nice to meet you, Kodi."

As Avery reached over to shake her hand, she spilt her water bottle and is got all over her tank top. "Oh no!" She cried, she could not believe that she had just done that. She could feel her cheeks turning a very dark red. The water made her shirt very see-through, so much so that you could see her red bra. Well, she knew that she could just do a drying spell, but she would have to take her shirt off to do that, and that did seem a little awkward, especially in front of someone that she literally never met before. "I am so sorry that you just had to see that. Oh man, I am such a mess today! I'm sorry that you have to see this...but I have to umm..." Avery sighed a bit, she really wish that this had not just happened. Avy thought that this girl could have been one of her best friends, but this little moment had just ruined whatever chance that had. Sighing for what felt like the hundredth time that moment, Avery tugged her shirt over her head. Thankfully she was wearing a bra, that would have been too embarrassing if she had not worn one tonight under her PJs. Of course, Avery was such a mess that she could not even remember the drying spell. She lightly rubbed her head trying to think, she knew it'd come to her.

There had been a number of times when Kodi had been somewhere, and wished she could be anywhere else. Every night she'd spent with Mr. Adler. Her whole entire stay at her mental asylum. And right now. Kodi wished she could be anywhere than in the library. But if she got up and left, that would seem rude. After all, Avery hadn't done anything. She was just talking. "Kodi," Avery repeated. "That is a very nice name. It is so nice to meet you, Kodi." "Nice to meet you too, Avery," Kodi replied. Oh, you two are getting along so well. You should see if your lips move together well, too. Kodi sighed and dug her nails into both of her palms. Nikki was never going to stop. They would never stop. Kodi was never going to be normal, like Kaedyn. She would never really have any friends. Or a boyfriend. The only things she'd have were her medication and her therapy sessions. Shut. Up. I am not going to kiss her, so just stop it! She suddenly noticed that Avery was reaching across the table. Her hand knocked over her water bottle and the liquid spilt all over her top. "Oh no!" The water soaked through Avery's top immediately. Her top was now transparent. Kodi's eyes widened at the sight of Avery's red bra. That has got to be the best mistake ever. Merlin. Great, just great. Kodi lowered her eyes quickly. "Oops,"
was all she could say.

"I am so sorry that you just had to see that. Oh man, I am such a mess today! I'm sorry that you have to see this...but I have to umm..." Out of the corner of her eye, Kodi saw Avery's shirt slowly rise over her head. And in a matter of seconds, the redhead was sitting opposite of her without her shirt on. Oh, Kodi. Wow. She is such a tease, isn't she? She's just asking for it. Look at how hot she is. She's not a tease! She did it on accident. An accident? Yeah, right. Rubbish. Look at her teasing smile. She is so sexy. Kodi swallowed hard. She shot to her feet so suddenly, she knocked over her chair. "I have to go. S-sorry," she spluttered. She didn't want to see the hurt expression on Avery's face, so she spun around. Just let me have this, Kodi. No! Yes. No fucking way. That's exactly what I plan to do. Kodi wrapped her arms around herself. It was happening again. Her head started to throb. She shut her eyes and sneezed.

Nikki turned back around swiftly. Like hell she was about to leave. Her eyes fell on Avery's stomach and chest, and a slow smile spread across her face. "Oh, you are such a little klutz," she said softly, walking over and sliding easily into the seat next to her. "I bet you did that on purpose, hm?" Nikki giggled and twirled a lock of her hair around her finger. "Oh, and you can call me Nikki, sweetheart. Kodi's just a name I use in case I get in trouble with someone." She inched her chair closer. "I don't mean to be so forward, but you are a very pretty girl." Her eyes dropped down quickly and back up to her face. She was sure Avery didn't even notice. "Red is definitely your color." A playful smirked crossed her lips and Nikki slid her chair even closer. Their were knees were almost touching. "You know, dear, we're all by ourselves here. What ever shall we do?" She tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Oh!" Blue eyes lit up excitedly. Her smirk transformed into a sneaky grin. "Can you help me look for a book?" She craned her neck and pointed to the very back of the library. "It's back there in one of the lower shelfs. I can never find the books I want. But I bet you could find them. You're so smart." Another giggle. "So, what do you say?"
