((Once the drama begins; probably after a couple posts by Evelyn; this thread is OPEN for reactions from anyone and everyone at all. You can wait till the end to post or you could jump right in and have your character do/say something. Once the damage is done you can go ahead and add to the drama and help Evelyn out if you want. PMing her and discussing before would be good! Alright...here goes...))
May 25th, 2041; Saturday
Sex. Lies. Scandal. Browsing through the books of the library standing on a tall ladder Carlin beamed to herself at her thoughts. None of those...yes; none of those worried her anymore. Sex was brilliant with George...everything was perfect. Lies were all gone and never to be said again...everything was buried. Scandal was something of the past...everything was ignored and washed away. Everything probably still existed around her maybe even concerning her but for Carlin all was put behind her. Somehow, this getting together with George had brought about a peace with her...about her brother...her family. Besides Aimee...he was the first person she spoke to about it and she hadn't been very cryptic. She literally poured her heart out and told him everything there was to know about Carlin Hayes and the band of brothers. How they came to be and what they made of her...how they were lost and what that made of her...how she was found and what she felt right now. There was nothing she left from George and that simply welled up more feelings within her for him. He was so easy to talk to...hell, she wasn't even someone to talk to a person just because they were easy to talk to. He was just more than that. Carlin felt comfortable...she felt good with him. And there was nothing more she wanted or needed in this relationship. Things were all going smooth and she wasn't about to mess anything up this time.
The words of her brother from a dream a long time ago came back to her...and she simply smiled this time. The image of baby brother flashed before her...and she told herself she'd stay with him this time. George brought out the best in her. George made her want to do things right. George made her want to do the right things. Leaning over to grab a book at the end of the shelf she felt the ladder move towards it slowly and held onto it tight. A soft laugh left her lips as she imagined George being up there and his face pale as ever...his fear of heights was something she couldn't help but laugh at. Especially for a quidditch player like him it just seemed like so hilarious. Flipping open the book and scanning the pages she wondered if she made as much of a change in him as he did in her. He was different for sure...he had changed from what he had been without her...but how different had he been with Harriet? It was silly to compare herself with a dead girlfriend but she felt insecure all the same. George made her feel so special...she hoped she did too. And knowing him as just a sweet, kind and faithful boy from Hogwarts she couldn't really say much by staring up into those blue eyes. She might be happy and feeling a whole lot different...but she was still Carlin...the very same girl who has a hard time looking beyond the surface of the person. Her heart might be warm from all the love but clearly it all came from what was happening right then and there...or else, could she have forgotten a certain other Lion?
Slowly stepping down the ladder as she continued to read, her feet were moving down ever so slowly and her hands sliding down along with it as she felt the next step and took it...and then another and yet another. She had been right at the top of the ladder and that surely was a long way down; but Carlin had her nose in the book and she was taking her own sweet time coming down. Anyone watching her this moment would probably want to burst out laughing. Georges' plaid shirt and skin tight blue jeans she wore weren't a norm...and that book in her hand and how she stopped to push the lock of hair behind her ear as she moved down while reasing the book was clearly far from who Carlin Hayes was supposed to be. She didn't know how it was that George got her back into studies so much...just in time for her to actually manage to pass in a couple of her courses...but he did. She had her nose buried in these dusty, big books an hour or two a day which really was a huge deal compared to how negligent she had been before. Descending a sudden feeling crept inside of her making her frown into the pages slightly...holding onto the ladder and shutting the book she turned around to meet her eyes with those brown ones she clearly had forgotten about. A lump formed in her throat as she stared back at the expression she knew so well.
Standing with her back pressed against the ladder...still a few steps above the ground she slowly made her way down backwards with her eyes not leaving the girl. Of course, how had she managed to forget the existence of this person. She had left Carlin groaning in pain the last time...but that had been washed away the moment she was with George once again lamely making excusing about her destroyed book and bruised arm. A few teases and laughs later it was all gone and Carlin had never thought about Evelyn ever again...until now of course. A frown creased her brows at the way she was being looked at...but she didn't utter a word. Maybe the girl would just walk away and let her be...let them be and forget how it was and what was done. But judging by her look now and what she had said before she left the last time...the girl seemed to have a plan brewing at the back of her head. It frightened Carlin...but she didn't dare show it although her fear of lossing George had sprung up again. Her feet finally feeling the ground...she still had her hand gripping at the ladder and leaning back against it holding a book in the other hand. "Evelyn..."

Evelyn had been in the library for an hour. Her hand moved delicately across the page of her sketch pad. The library was packed full of students. Some people she didn't want to acknowledge were there. Unfortunately, none of her friends were here. School was almost over. Just a few more weeks and she'd be home for summer vacation. The Lion sighed and dropped her pencil. It rolled across the desk and over the edge. She scooped down and snatched it off the carpet. Straightening back up, she tucked a lock of hair behind her eyes and surveyed her drawing. She had drawn a picture of a family of wolves inside of their den. One of the wolf cubs was draped over his brother. The mother wolf and father wolf were lying next to the wolf cubs. Evelyn had drawn the night sky around the den. She smiled. It looked really, really good. Almost lifelike. Maybe she should go to a Muggle art school and become a professional artist. That would be fun, right? She'd meet a lot of interesting people. She could make a lot of money. Not that she had to worry about money. Her parents had put enough money in her and her sisters' bank accounts so they would never have to work. But Evelyn wanted to make something of herself. She wasn't going to lie around her house for the rest of her life after she graduated. How [i[boring[/i]. Plus, with her intelligence, she'd be able to do a lot. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a flash of black hair. Looking up, she saw a certain Badger climbing up a ladder. She'd been sitting in the library waiting for Carlin to appear.
Rage filled her. Carlin. Carlin had pretended she cared about her. Loved her. And stupidly, Evelyn had trusted her. But all along, Carlin had just been playing her like Evelyn was a piece on a game board. She'd done a lot for that stupid bitch. She shut her eyes as memories flooded back. Her and Carlin in her dorm room that one night. Then Carlin practically choking her to death the night of the Winter Formal. The broom closet. The night Carlin had broken her arm. And of course, the greenhouse. She glanced down at her right arm, remembering the pain she'd suffered after the Badger had broken it. She watched Carlin leaf through a book and start to descend the ladder. The Lion shoved back her chair, snatching up her tote bag and flinging it over her shoulder but leaving her sketch book behind. She had been planning her revenge on Carlin for few weeks now. At the Black and White dance, Evelyn had accidentally stumbled across George and Carlin kissing. In that short moment, everything had fallen into place. Carlin had probably been seeing George behind her back the whole time they were 'together'. Poor George was being played, too. Well, it was all about to come to a screeching halt. Evelyn knew Carlin liked to go to the library. It was just a matter of choosing the right day to carry out her plan. She knew George also liked to go to the library around a certain time. Not that she had stalked them or anything. She was just perceptive. But it was by sheer luck it would be a day that so many people were in the library. Good. She was going to expose Carlin for the slutty, arrogant bitch that she was. She strolled over calmly and leaned against the bookshelves. Carlin turned around and their eyes locked. Dark eyes followed the girl as she slowly made her way down the ladder. One of Carlin's had gripped the ladder while the other clutched a book. "Evelyn..." Oh, was that uneasiness she'd dedicated in her tone?
"Carlin." Evelyn spat out the girl's name with disgust. She wanted Carlin to pay. She wanted her to feel the humiliation that she felt. She wanted the other girl to go through the physical pain she had endured. "Fancy meeting you here, hm?" She eyed Carlin up and down. Ugh. How could she hate her and be attracted to her at the same time? It was a mess. She loved her. And she hated her. Emotions suck. She could hear the chatter of students behind her. Quills scraping against parchment. Chairs being shoved back. But her focus was entirely on the girl before her. George should be here any second now. Then she could finally put her plan into action. A sly smirk spread over her lips. "So, it's been a while." Evelyn traced the spine of a book on the shelf she was leaning against. "Are you still a slut or is that just on weeknights?" She chuckled a little and stepped closer to Carlin. "I still can't believe what you did. You're such a tease," she said a in sultry tone. Another stepped closer. She wrapped her arms around Carlin's waist and kissed her, hoping George would walk around the corner at any minute and see them.

((I also have permission to mod :D))
George, my dear boy. and, with that simple start, he understood that everything was about to collapse around him. They had bad news, and he wasn't sure if he would be able to stand it without breaking down. We hope that everything is fine at Hogwarts Patronus Academy, and that you are not missing Harriet too dearly. We are sorry that we haven't returned any letters from our behalf, but we have been busy, and this is about to change. Back home, everything is absolutely dandy. Your mum is simply rushing around, tidying up for guests as usual, whilst I sit in my comfy chair (you know the one) reading newspaper, telling her to calm down. She's been acting as if the blooming Queen is coming to stay. You are doing well in my studies, I presume? You must be quite a master at warnds, yes? I hope you are, because you know how we love magic, and we hope that you return - making use to your waynd skills. We could always use an extra hand around the house, you know, my dear boy. Anyway, enough dandying about. We realize how much you love Emma, and therefore I feel that we owe it to you to tell you about what has happened before you return to Summer. Well, over the past month she has developed lots of infections, increasing fatigue, high temperatures and weight loss. However, we figured this was simply any old flu. However, a month into the symptoms, we finally decided to take her to a doctor. And we discoveree discoverel discovered that she has Acute Leukemias. It was too late to treat, and she has about 4 months left. I am deeply sorry, son, and hope that you will forgive us for being such a let down at being parents.
Your fatherDad
He let his grasp on the letter loosen, and wasn't aware of whereabouts it floated off to, because his whole body was shaking with such shock and sadness that he had not experienced ever before. He couldn't seem to grasp the idea of what he had just read, however. In about a years time, there would be no more Emma in his life. Acute Leukemias was uncurable once a month or so passed - it was too late, and just because his parents thought that it was "simply any old flu" - not worthy of going to the doctors. Surely they weren't so stupid? So, unbearably stupid? However, George's anger wasn't channeled towards his parents, it was channeled towards George, himself, and for some unknown reason. He just hated himself at that moment, and as he stood there - completely and utterly struck - so struck that he was unable to even cry, was alien to him. He gazed into space, taking in the surroundings. The tree, slightly rocking in the warm breeze that enveloped him into its arms. The birds, flying above him, coming back from the South - ready to enjoy the warmth that Summer and Spring contained. Everything he was aware of was how beautiful the world was, and how it was so unknown to some people - who had as short of a life as 12. It was harsh, and unbearably cruel. He wished that he would die instead of Emma - who still had her whole life ahead her. But, George still had as well. As his thoughts wandered to Carlin, his legs seemed to carry him down to the Owlery; wanting to meet Carlin again. Carlin - the only thing in his life that was worth living for. Carlin - the girl that he loved and admired more than anything else on this earth. Carlin - the girl who was about to break his heart in two.
The tears still wouldn't come, as he moved towards the library - almost robotically. His limbs just stayed there; immobile. The shock was still spreading over his body, as he wasn't aware that his expression was as blank as a white sheet of paper. However, his thoughts were still on Carlin. She would be in the library, since he had insisted. The way that he persuaded her to study had been a shock to him, but he wanted the best for Carlin, so that she could carry on and be a successful woman in the years to come. There was not even the slightest of doubts that he would be together for Carlin forever, since the thought of even loving a single woman as much as he loved Carlin was laughable to George. It was simply impossible, and there was no way that would happen. He licked his lips anxiously - the first movement that somehow proved that George was still human since the letter had wandered off. He was aware of his whole body shaking, and he was sure that the tears would come later. But that later would be when he was with Carlin, since he didn't care about Carlin seeing him cry at all; especially if he had a viable reason for doing what most boys could not bear to do in the presence of their loved ones. However, his and Carlin's relationship was beyond all of the show, and it was down to the raw emotions that they felt for each other. Undying love. Protection that would carry on until the other is safe. Even sensuality was included, though this was simply a bonus, and not even an eighteenth as important as love.
He opened the library doors, and was glad to hear the quiet mumbling of random people at times, compared to the loud corridors that he had just walked through - even though he hadn't been aware of the talking at all. His light blue eyes scanned the library quickly, as he looked for Carlin desperately - though he could not see a glimpse of her. Utterly determined to find her, he figured that she would be looking for a book. He glanced between the first couple of shelves quickly, though after the first couple he started looking at the books. Grabbing out for a Potion's book that Carlin could guide him through - one of the only subjects that she was truly better at than him - he noticed just how white his hands were. His whole body had gone the colour of white paper, an almost unnatural colour compared to his normal tone. The veins that pounded through his hands were visible as day, the purple string a clear sign that he was alive, and that this wasn't a bad nightmare. He grabbed it, and as he traveled between shelves he almost forgot what he was looking for. Taking a Herbology book, an Arithmacy book and a couple of others all at once. As he arrived at the last shelf, he felt his whole world truly collapse. Everything he had lived for had gone all at once - all in one day. He could almost hear his heart breaking into two. He felt his grip loosening, as the books all fell to the floor with an almighty crash, though he couldn't hear this. He had forgotten to breathe. He had forgotten what it felt like to be happy.
It took his eyes a while to adjust to the sight. There was Carlin. Carlin, with her black hair trailing down her back. Her slightly flushed cheeks. Her almost unbearably skinny body was right there, though his body failed to acknowledge this fact. It couldn't be Carlin. Not his Carlin. Carlin was sweet, caring, protective, and strong. Not slutty, with her hand on another girl's waist, making out in the Library - when she had a boyfriend. A boyfriend who would do everything and anything for her. The other girl he recognized as Evelyn. Though, he didn't want to really focus on her, because it was Carlin who he loved. Carlin who was supposed to be coming to his house for a part of the Summer, and Carlin who currently was obviously kissing back - not doing anything to stop the scene before George's beautiful blue eyes. His mouth hung open in a neat 'o', as he tried to take in the scene, but couldn't. His brain couldn't register. Carlin was a lesbian. Carlin was cheating. Carlin didn't love him as much as she did. His throat was dry, his face becoming a white that looked the shade that a ghost might have in the Muggle children's stories they told. He swallowed, coming back to reality. Everything was over. And that was when he finally erupted. "Would someone like to tell me what the fuck is going on here?" he asked, his voice shaking, but amazingly calm and quiet. But, of course, that was only for then. "Would someone like to tell me, why the fuck is my FUCKING GIRLFRIEND FUCKING MAKING OUT WITH A FUCKING GIRL?" he started, but his voice broke into a shout, as his mind ignored all of the rules that a library contained. No swearing. No shouting. No not studying whilst in the library. And George happened to be breaking them all. "WELL?" he asked, his voice in a shout again; as it rang in his ears. He felt as if he was going to pass out, and he wasn't even aware of the librarian shouting at him. All he was aware of was that everything that he loved had been lost in a couple of minutes time.

Lips dry and head throbbing...Carlin wondered what it was she so afraid of. Why was the sight of this girl making her so nervous that she felt like running out of this place already. Blocked by the tall shelves she felt suffocated with her being a couple of feet away. "Fancy meeting you here, hm?" and Carlin had no reply to it. Her cheeks were burning and it almost felt like her body was warning her of something bad to come...or maybe it was just guilt of all her wrong doings...or maybe it was just reality striking at her after Carlin so skillfully and conveniently shutting this girl off without a thought once she had George. Just the thought of having done all those things made her want to breakdown. Oh god...realization was just striking her. Just staring back into those angry eyes got her to understand what she had done and how she had affected the girl. The raven haired girl before her was nothing like the one she had first met...feisty maybe...but not the same innocent, weak one she had so easily manipulated and used...bitched and thrown around. "Just grabbing a book for..." she finally managed to blurt out stepping down from the ladder but only to be interrupted by Evelyn. "So, it's been a while." Her forehead creased as she raised an eye towards her "Huh?" Eyes following her fingers tracing the spine of the book ever so slowly. For some reason even that seemed to make her stomach tie up in a knot. Gosh! Get a hold of yourself. She's just a stupid bitch...you didn't seem to think twice while breaking her arm! a voice shouted in her head and she took a deep breath trying to gather up her nerves and push away her second thoughts. "Are you still a slut or is that just on weeknights?" Evelyn chuckled making Carlin throw an angry glare at her and move away slightly seeing how she was stepping closer...but the bloody ladder got in the way and made her trip slightly. Carlin glanced up at the girl and quickly regained her posture "Fuck off, bitch...I don't have time for you now..." but her tone didn't come out as sharper or harsh like it used to and she swallowed back at the hesitation wondering why the fuck she was feeling this way. So...conflicted? Hell...what was that about. "I still can't believe what you did. You're such a tease," More words that made her stomach churn and all Carlin seemed to be able to do was frown back at her "Don't..." she muttered right when Evelyn stepped in even closer and wrapped her arms around her waist leaning over to kiss her.
The moment their lips were pressed together things were clear to Carlin. Of course it was confliction...the bloody bitch going her blood boiling in every way possible. No..she wasn't just angry. She could feel the excitement rise in parts of her that she thought she had taken care of. A soft moan left her lips as she tried to break the kiss but only to be pulled back into it. A hand slide down to the girls side. For a moment she was lost in the feel of the girls body against her and forgot she was supposed to be pushing her away. She couldn't even figure out if she had been kissing her back or just letting her kiss her. Whatever it was...her other hand slid in between them trying to push her away...palm against her chest. Brushing against her softness Carlin felt yet another feeling creep into her and it brought tears to her eyes. A picture of George flashing in her head...she knew how wrong this was and yet she didn't seem to be able to stop it. It felt so foreign...and yet it almost looked like she had been waiting for the girl to come snog her. The library...where they started off. The game she started...now she felt like a victim of her own play. "Evelyn.." she moaned ever so softly but her voice drowned in comparison to anothers that had just sounded. Her body froze and her thoughts just vanished. Blank. She couldn't say what she felt or if she even felt anything."Would someone like to tell me what the fuck is going on here?" George! GEORGE! her head screamed breaking the silence in her head and her hand fell down to her sides suddenly realizing how their placement looked to anyone else. With Evelyns arms wrapped around her waist like that...it wouldn't look like anything else. But then again...was she really doing something else. "Would someone like to tell me, why the fuck is my FUCKING GIRLFRIEND FUCKING MAKING OUT WITH A FUCKING GIRL?" A sudden strength came over her and she shoved Evelyn away and found herself staring back at the girl for a moment that seemed the longest. Her teeth sinking down on her lower lip she trembled trying to figure out what was to be said. Oh no no...not this way. Not like this... she found herself praying as she slowly raised her eyes to look at the boy...her boy.
George. His face as white as her own. His eyes screaming out pain. His lips left parted in shock. The hurt in him radiated out towards her and she felt every inch of added with her own guilt. What the fuck was she going to do? She felt like breaking down at the very sight of the boy she loved so heart broken...and the reason being her. Hadn't she seen this coming? Of course she had...she knew it had to happen some day, right? No...she hadn't. She actually ran away from it all and thought it would just be fine as long as it never happened again. Right? Yea...and had she bothered to tell him anything? No...she didn't feel the need? No...she drowned herself in happiness and forgot about any consequences of her previous actions. The monster she created...the monster she would be creating...just because of her lack of sense...of right or wrong. "WELL?" he snapped once again making the words that had been ringing in her ears be replaced with this very one. Before Evelyn could jump in and say something Carlin pushed away and said the first things that just came to her "She's crazy...she just threw herself at me!" What the fuck....more lies? Her insides froze but her lips seemed to go on with whatever it was that it wanted to say...thought it was right. Hell...every bit of her seemed against it; but she continued on. "I got mad at her that night...for sleeping with you..." What the hell if wrong with me...how can I bring that up after all these months! Stop talking! she cried to herself but she stuttered on "George..." she moved in closer not knowing if she could even bare to touch him. The look on his face burning into her own...she wanted to kill herself for having brought this upon him. "She's crazy...don't listen to her. She's freaking insane...she's been throwing herself at me all year. Ever since we first bumped into each other..." she went on knowing there were explanations yet to be given but words failing her as she her eyes flamed with tears and her whole body shook. "George..." his name seeming so fake on her lips. Lies...lies to cover up lies...a thousand lies. Carlin Hayes would never changed, would she? Tears streaked her cheeks as she snapped her neck to hear Evelyns' voice. Sex. Lies. Scandal...did someone say it was all over?

Even though Evelyn hated Carlin for what she did to her, she still couldn't stop that familiar rush of excitement she got whenever they kissed. Or the tingles that shot down on her spine. She felt Carlin's hand on her chest and heard her moan her name, and she knew she should stop. She should stop because Carlin didn't feel the same way about her as she did. Just as she was pulling Carlin closer to her, George's loud, angry voice practically shattered the girl's eardrums. "Would someone like to tell me what the fuck is going on here?" Welll, damn. Could he yell any louder? "Would someone like to tell me, why the fuck is my FUCKING GIRLFRIEND FUCKING MAKING OUT WITH A FUCKING GIRL?" Apparently he could. The Lion momentarily lost her balance as she was shoved backwards, but quickly regained her balance. She stared back at her calmly. Carlin wasn't happy. Yes, George. I would love to tell you about what your slutty girlfriend's been up to. She snorted as Carlin tried to explain herself to George. How very amusing. The Badger was practically falling apart at her feet. "She's crazy...don't listen to her. She's freaking insane...she's been throwing herself at me all year. Ever since we first bumped into each other..." Evelyn raised an eyebrow. Really? Okay, Carlin had talked enough. It was her turn now. And she was going to tell everyone. "Actually, George, allow me to tell you what's been going on. In fact.." Her gaze snapped to Carlin and her expression hardened. "You like to play games, right? Well, how about we play a game right now?" Without waiting for an answer, she marched over to the table and climbed on top of it. Was she really going to to this? She subconsciously gripped her right arm. She could almost hear it breaking again. She could almost feel the pain. Yes, yes she was going to do this.
"Hey, everyone!" she called out, gaining the attention of the kids in the library. "So, who here would like to play a guessing game? All of you? Excellent!" She clasped her hands together and gestured toward Carlin with a sweeping motion. "Who here wants to guess what Carlin Hayes has been up to all year?" She paused to take in everyone's expressions. Earlier during the year, Evelyn wouldn't have done this. Even though Carlin had hurt her physically and emotionally. She would have kept everything to herself. Well, she probably would have talked to Ameila about it. But something inside the Lion was changing. She could feel it. She wasn't as sweet anymore. She was snarky with people who didn't deserve it. She had gotten a little snippy with her friends. She was turning to a bitch, to put it frankly. "No one wants to guess? Well, then, I'd be happy to fill all of you in." She shot Carlin a nasty smirk and winked. "Since the start of the year, Patronus Academy's very own residential whore has been sleeping around. But what's new about that, right? We all know how she is. This time, however, she's been sleeping with a girl." She jumped down from the desk and leaned against it casually. "Yes, you heard me correctly. She swing both ways and so do I. But to all my little closeted girls out there, don't even try to get with her. Guys, you may want to rethink sleeping with her when she throws herself at you. She can get pretty violent." She shrugged a shoulder and turned a hand over to examine perfectly manicured nails. "She's thrown me around a couple of times, actually. Left some bruises. She even broke my fucking arm." A bitter laugh escaped her lips. "At first, she told me she wanted to keep our relationship a secret. And I didn't have a problem with that. But that was never really the case, was it, Carlin? No, you had a much more devious plan in mind. All along, you'd been using me." She finally raised her eyes to look at her peers. "What a clever little slut she is, hm?" She suddenly realized that her hands were shaking. Her heart was beating hard against her chest. But she wasn't done yet. No, she was just getting started.
Handler's note: I'm adding Zach's post in here because it's easier on me. I have permission to mod.
Zachary didn't really like the library. Unless he was scoping out chicks. But he was sitting with Meissa now, trying to fix things between them. She hadn't exactly thrown her arms around him and hugged him when he had given her birthday present. He knew she was pissed, but come on. It was May now. Damn, how long could a girl hold a grudge? He drummed his fingers against the desk they were seated at. "It was only lingerie! It was for you and whomever you waned to wear it for. I had no intention of you wearing it for me." He knew his feelings for Quinn went way beyond friendship. He was going to ask her to the dance, but chickened out at the last minute. He had decided to stay up in his dorms. Suddenly, Lowden's loud voice rang throughout the quiet library. Whoa. He was pissed. He watched the scene unfold before his eyes, and amused grin spread across his lips. How entertaining. Perhaps the library wasn't so bad after all.
"Hey, look at that, he whispered, pointing to Evelyn climbing up on the table. He had tried to get Meissa to tell him more about what she and Evelyn were doing, but she never told him anything. He was just curious. "Your Lion is freaking out. Kind of funny, hm?" He heard startled gasps from around him as Evelyn informed everyone of what was going on behind closed doors. Damn, what was with this girl? She didn't seem like the type to announce her secrets to a library full of students. He glanced at Meissa to gaze her reaction. "I didn't think she had the guts. Your lessons must be paying off, huh?" He smirked and turned his attention back on the Lion. He didn't want to miss a minute of this.

Aimee had her nose stuck in a book near the middle of the library, a usual place to find her so close to finals. Ruffling through pages, she scrawled tiny notes blissfully in her own little world before a loud angry voice rang out behind a few aisle of books. Very loud. Very angry. And familiar. Was that George? Aimee rose slowly before gathering her things and slipping back towards the source of the sound, surprised to see a very disgruntled looking George, a smug roommate and an almost panicked Carlin. What the bloody hell was going on? "She's crazy...don't listen to her. She's freaking insane...she's been throwing herself at me all year. Ever since we first bumped into each other..." Aimee's eyes narrowed at Carlin's words, mentally tracing the exact path that would be quickest to her wand. Good Merlin. "What is going on here?" she interjected, voice clearly unamused at the disruption in what she easily considered her favorite place in the school. The question was directed at George seeing as he had been the first voice she'd heard, but Evelyn was suddenly speaking in a sharp tone. "Actually, George, allow me to tell you what's been going on. In fact.." Aimee turned to see the Lion throw Carlin a cold look. "You like to play games, right? Well, how about we play a game right now?" Aimee watched, horrified as her roommate crossed to the nearest table and climbed onto the surface. Aimee's eyes flashed dangerously. "Get down, Evelyn." Her voice was quiet, firm but the other girl either didn't hear her or didn't care.
"Hey everyone! So, who here would like to play a guessing game? All of you? Excellent!" Irritation was brewing dangerously in Aimee's stomach - she didn't know Evelyn very well; she had never really paid her much mind. Regardless, her current assessment was that the girl was not only dull, but completely out of control. This was a library for Merlin's sake. There were other students studying nearby and their attention was now on the small group standing around Evelyn. "Who here wants to guess what Carlin Hayes has been up to all year?" Aimee's eyes flickered to her friend but only a split second later, she hissed up at her roommate. "Evelyn." A warning. A warning that went completely unnoticed as she continued. "No one wants to guess? Well, then, I'd be happy to fill all of you in. Since the start of the year, Patronus Academy's very own residential whore has been sleeping around. But what's new about that, right? We all know how she is. This time, however, she's been sleeping with a girl." Aimee's eyes might have widened in surprise had she not been so bitter about how Evelyn was acting right now. Words like this had no place in a public area - and certainly not in this manner. "Yes, you heard me correctly. She swing both ways and so do I. But to all my little closeted girls out there, don't even try to get with her. Guys, you may want to rethink sleeping with her when she throws herself at you. She can get pretty violent. She's thrown me around a couple of times, actually. Left some bruises. She even broke my fucking arm." Aimee felt her confusion rising, but she couldn't protest to the last accusation - she'd seen it first hand. "At first, she told me she wanted to keep our relationship a secret. And I didn't have a problem with that. But that was never really the case, was it, Carlin? No, you had a much more devious plan in mind. All along, you'd been using me." The words were harsh and perhaps a bit undeserved, but none of that was Aimee's concern right now. "What a clever little slut she is, hm?"
That was enough. Taking two long strides forward, she slid dangerously close to Evelyn, eyes shining furiously. "I'm not exactly sure what is going on here, but this is not the place to handle petty little disagreements." Her voice was low, the irritation barely touching her words - she was the spitting image of control and that's exactly how it was going to remain. "Another scene like that and I'll make sure you have so much detention, it carries over into the next year." The thread was real, but right now, Evelyn wasn't who she needed to talk to. Glancing at George, she could feel the emotions radiating off of him and quickly sought to prevent another unnecessarily loud outburst. "George, take a deep breath." She'd seen the pair of them together at the last dance so she assumed that they had finally figured things out - she knew an announcement like this, no matter how questionable it may have sounded, couldn't be easy to hear. Her hand landed lightly against his arm in an attempt to keep him calm, not once losing her mental path to her wand. Her attention shifted to Carlin, confusion and disappointment warring in her eyes as she eyed the Badger. "Carlin?" The simple addressing of her name should have been enough for the girl to understand. She was expecting answers, and with a scene like this, they better be damn good.

((ooc: feel free to ask for an edit..I just needed to keep Mei in character))
Meissa wasn't a fan of orders unless they came from a higher power. Evelyn Grace? Not exactly the motivating higher power that kicked the little Raven's butt into gear. Nonetheless, there was to be some sort of something in the library. Some sort of plan that Evelyn said would prove her seriousness in her lessons with Meissa. And it had to do with Carlin, naturally. So whatever. There were worse places that she could have to spend an afternoon than at the library. In one way or another she would have found her way here anyways. Not wanting to be let down she made sure to come armed with other things to do, namely textbooks. If the purpose of her presence fell through than at least she could use this as a block of unscheduled studying. Everything was fine, right, and dandy until Zach insisted on tagging along. Instead of telling him off she vaguely had filled him in on what she was doing. He was still for all intents and purposes in the deepest doghouse he had been in their entire friendship but she would give him this one. Or maybe not. Now sitting at the table hearing him try to talk to her made Meissa's earlier decision seem foolish. Her stomach churned quickly and her mind tried to bury itself deeper into the safety of her textbooks. "It was only lingerie! It was for you and whomever you waned to wear it for. I had no intention of you wearing it for me." For a split second she took her gaze off of the wise words before her and shot a silencing glare at Zach. Maybe if he saw how unwelcome his comments were he would stop them. "Lingerie? It looked like lace handkerchief. Don't be disgusting." She spoke harshly, making sure the words sounded like the finishing point of their conversation rather than a start.
Settling back into her book was easy. All it took was the silence Zach grudgingly seemed to offer. And than a voice louder, even more obnoxious than Zach's rang out through the hushed room. Huh, she hadn't supposed that possible. Up ahead a rather huffy looking Lion sprang forth practically frothing at the mouth. What was next? Did he intend to smash his fists angrily across his chest? The tiniest hint of a smirk sprang to life. People were so embarrassing when fueled by their emotions. Followed after his little outburst came one of Carlin's. Oh. Wasn't this turning out to be the awkward parade? Did George not know that Carlin had a bit of a rainbow colored flag in her arsenal? Meissa had known that for months thanks to the tramp of a friend Ellington turned out to be. "Liar," came the mutter under her breath which she paired with a skeptical look to Zach. At least they both knew the truth. But Evelyn apparently had a handle on this loud debacle. Loud. It was all so loud and rather embarrassing for that matter. Part of her wanted to hex Evelyn into a little cage. Didn't her little star pupil know that Meissa Malfoy disagreed with disturbing the peace of the library? The other part of her was a bit proud of her standing up for herself. She just wished it a bit more understated and not so Lyra batshit crazy. And then it only continued to get worse. If she was a lesser person she would have shoved her hands over her eyes to shield herself from the spectacle. Or a greater person she would have stopped Evelyn's preaching from the top of a nearby table. But, she was neither. She was only herself. "I didn't think she had the guts. Your lessons must be paying off, huh?" "Something like that." Mental note: Make sure Evelyn learns the value of ever using a library. Properly. Then little Aimee O'Homewrecker came onto the scene, her prefects badge clearly shining. Meissa's fist clenched tightly around the forgotten quill. What could she have to add to the fight? Relationship advice about how great Leonis was? How great it was ruining his shot at being absolutely anything?
Yet again her attention was dragged to another person as Evelyn vented her little heart out. Meissa would give her that. She never thought in a million years Evelyn would be anything other than a doormat. The Raven would have given herself a pat on the back if she wasn't paying such close attention. With the same small smirk in tact, Meissa put her quill in the middle of her book and shut the cover. Something told her no proper studying would be accomplished in the face of this. As soon as Evelyn finished, Aimee started. God, how had the perfect prefect make it here so fast? Must have been the cloud of angels and saints she rode in on. Too bad self-righteous crap wouldn't cut it in this world. As Aimee talked, Meissa's grey eyes turned slowly to Evelyn. She had gone from a blade of grass blowing in the wind of Carlin to a raging bull. Well, what was throwing a little red towel into the ring to see if she continued on her ways? "George, take a deep breath. Carlin?" With her head tilted to the side, Meissa turned to Zach. "Carlin is a bisexual prostitute who plays quidditch for both sides? I think that’s what Aimee's sentence was supposed to end in. And the point Evelyn is trying to get across. But we already knew that, didn't we? I thought everybody did. Obviously not." Perfectly aware she had spoken a bit too loud for just their two ears. Well there you go bull, Meissa had just added that red flag to stir up the madness. Meissa cast a feigned glance of confusion towards the drama before reopening her book. "Awkward."

((Permission to mod... uh, my own character :D))
Just a bit of quiet studying was all that Amelia wanted, to be perfectly honest. All of that drama was not for her, since she liked to take a back seat in any sort of group work that she took part in, trying not to get any attention. With attention, came questions, and that Amelia wasn't prepared to take a stand for. As she gripped onto her Potions book tightly, her mind wandered off to think about Evelyn. Evelyn, her best friend - right? They had yet to have a nice talk after Evelyn had admitted to what she was, and Amelia missed her. She truly missed her. She missed their midnight chats whilst Aimee was asleep. She missed the way they flicked fun at each other, but both knew perfectly well that if one of them were offended, they would stop straight away. She missed having a best friend. After Evelyn had stalked off because Amelia has said something 'insulting', no, after Amelia had told her the complete and honest truth, they had exchanged a couple of words - but far from what they were used to. She let out a low sigh, blowing an irritating strand of brown her out of her eyes, she opened the doors to the library; letting the quiet of the library take her into its arms, welcoming her. She saw quite a few people she recognized, as she made her way to a table which she shared with a lonely first year, simple because she hadn't been able to find a table to herself.
Scribbling away, she suddenly heard the drop of a couple of large books, her large brown eyes flicking up; away from her work and ready to take the sight in that she was seeing. Sure enough, there was her best friend. With none other, than Carlin Hayes. The girl that Amelia had warned Evelyn about so thoroughly. Something sounded wrong about Evelyn and Carlin together though, because that wasn't a sight she was used to. Over the couple of weeks, she had seen Carlin and George Lowden together practically everywhere. So, why on earth were they kissing, and in front of George - at that. The quiet mutterings was shattered almost immediately, as George's loud, masculine voice rang out throughout the library, apparently not aware where her was. She kept her eyes glued on the two girls, as Carlin shoved Evelyn away forcefully, and from there Amelia could see the blunt worry in her eyes. Jesus Christ. This was happening in the library, of all places in the massive school. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see the librarian - obviously furious with rage, but nobody was taking any notice of her. She knew pretty certainly that every pair of eyes were glued on the drama that was slowly unfolding before their eyes; something that tended not to happen that much. She heard Carlin mumble a few words, but then she realized that Evelyn was there as well. As Evelyn clambered onto the table, Amelia felt herself rising from her chair ever so slowly. And then she started to talk.
"No. Evelyn. No." she muttered sadly, as Evelyn confessed to what Carlin Whoreyes had been up to this year. Of course she was surprised that Carlin had done all of that. But she felt a tugging of sympathy for Carlin - a feeling that was completely and utterly new to Amelia. Amelia hated Carlin, with all of her heart, but Evelyn wasn't being fair now, not at all. She felt her feet moving forward, as Aimee threatened her with a month of detentions. Fucking brilliant. "Evelyn... Ev..." she pleaded quietly, her brown eyes reaching up to meet Evelyn's own brown eyes. Could she not see what she was doing to George? For god's sake, Amelia didn't even know George personally, but the look on his face was enough to tell that he was completely and utterly heartbroken. She could almost see the heartbreak written across his face, and she felt her heart break slightly. Nobody deserved to feel that sort of emotion. It was clear that George would like nothing else to just curl up and die at that moment. "Ev... I know you hate Carlin, but do you hate George as well? Do you think that he deserves the sort of emotions that he's feeling at the minute. Evelyn. If you were in love with Carlin..." she trailed off, swallowing thickly. "Surely you know what heartbreak feels like. Do you want someone else to also feel this? Share your pain? If yes, then, to be honest, I don't want anything to do with you anymore." she said quietly, hoping that nobody had heard her. She glanced back at Carlin and George, and then at Evelyn. As George started to shout something again, she just blocked it out, hoping for Evelyn's sake that she had listened to what she had said.

((Technically double-posting ^.^ Oh, and it's weird how when I was writing these posts, I felt like my heart was seriously sinking >.<))
He was pretty sure his knees were going to give way. But no, he would stay strong. He couldn't show that he was as hurt as he was, when obviously Carin had been screwing random people whilst he had been as faithful to her as possible. It was just Harriet all over again. Okay, so it hadn't been four years, but he had been happier with Carlin than he had been with Harriet throughout the four years, and all of the happiness had been squished into the space of a couple of months. His sister was going to be dead this time next year. His love for Carlin was stupid. Everything that he felt that he lived for, was going to be gone. He really had no reason to live, then. As these thoughts entered his head, he felt his attention being switched back to Carlin. She said something about Evelyn throwing herself at her, but George could see beyond her eyes by now, and he knew that it was lies the second that his eyes met her own. Oh, he couldn't even look at her, not when she held such happy memories, that would soon be forgotten with this one memory that was worse than any memories that he had ever experienced. That he would ever experience. He saw Evelyn going up on the table, and as she started to talk he couldn't quite let the words sink in. They hurt to much. He believed her, and there wasn't a moment's hesitation in that. But... he just didn't want to hear it.
It was better off, he understood that. An unfaithful relationship was a broken relationship. Well, as long as the person being unfaithful hid it from the other person in the relationship. He stood there, slightly immobile, hearing some of Evelyn's words, like "sleeping with a girl" "throw around" "broke my fucking arm" and all that he knew was that this wasn't the Carlin he knew and loved. And, if it was the Carlin he loved, then he would have to rethink everything, though he knew that he wouldn't be able to stop loving her. It was just something about her, and a tingling feeling inside him told him that it was because they were made for each other. The loves of each other's lives. But George didn't believe in all of that crap, like 'soul mates' and 'destiny'. You made your own destiny, and he believed that there wasn't such a thing as soul mates either - it was simply the chemistry between two people. Two people very much in love. He saw Aimee entering the scene, threatening Evelyn with a detention. As if that would stop her he thought bitterly, his head throbbing from all of the information that was passing his brain. It was too much at once - an overload to put it simply. "George, take a deep breath." Aimee told him, but breaths weren't going to help his current state. He either shouted, or passed out. Either way, he still wouldn't have Carlin.
"Carlin is a bisexual prostitute who plays quidditch for both sides? I think that’s what Aimee's sentence was supposed to end in. And the point Evelyn is trying to get across. But we already knew that, didn't we? I thought everybody did. Obviously not." he heard a younger girl say smartly, and he spun around, absolutely enraged. It was enough. The slagging Carlin off was absolutely enough. He knew that he wasn't with her anymore, but he still loved her, and at that moment - the second point was more important. She looked like a Malfoy, and she sure sounded like one at that moment. "SHUT THE FUCK UP." he roared at her, his attention shifting to Ellington. "Oh, don't even bother trying to fuck with me because I told your girlfriend to shut up, Ellington. I kicked your ass once, leaving you begging for forgiveness. I'm prepared to do it again." he threatened, his voice loud and clear, though not quite shouting. The threat was real. He turned around to Carlin again, avoiding looking into her eyes at all cost. "You. Carlin. Some people don't change. I loved you. I thought you'd changed. But some people don't fucking change." he muttered, his throat sore from the shouting. He looked at Aimee, hurt fogging over his light blue eyes. "She hasn't been screwing you, has she?"

((WARNING: very very confusing post coming up))
Stay with me, George...Stay with me... she pleaded looking up at him as she had spoken just wishing he would block away Evelyn and keep her closer. Listen to her...take in what she had to say. But what did she have to say? More lies? It didn't seem fair to bring him down like that. He didn't deserve it and she saw it in his eyes. He knew he didn't deserve it. It was Harriet all over again. Her eyes stung at the way George looked away from her and turned his attention to Evelyn. Her own head snapping towards her when she heard her voice rising. Shut the fuck up, bitch... her insides roared but her lips trembled and the tears flowed easily almost confirming Evelyns' words. Anger strained within her raged to rip the girl apart but she stood her ground knowing it would do no good for her...not for George and her. As Evelyn continued to speak...climbing onto a table and shouting out to everyone Carlins' eyes grew wide. What the hell.... was all she could think as she scanned the room and saw almost everyone's attention turning to the commotion in the center of the library. Fuck fuck fuck... she cursed trying to get herself to do something but Evelyn had the upper hand here. She just began talking and the whole place seemed to freeze....absorbing in every word she said and the tension that grew was all she could feel besides the dry tear tracks down her cheek. Glaring at the way Evelyn simply shrugged between her words and continued coolly Carlin could feel her insides wishing she could just charge forward and punch the daylights out of her. As those tears dried up her fists were clenched tight by her sides...Evelyn wasn't going to see the end of this. The bloody fucking bitch. How dare she? "You were just too daft, bitch! You thought you could just play hot and cold with me?" she spat out angrily almost the very instant Evelyns' words were out of her mouth. The bloody fucking bitch. Her tone was completely different...harsh and violent...her eyes flaming. A movement beside her caught her attention and the sinking feeling when she had seen George came back to her. Aimee. The anger still brewing within her she pressed her lips together as the perfect redhead threatened to throw them in detention. Seriously...detention! Fucking prefect! she cursed not bothering to silence the darkness in her head and almost forgetting the girl had been the closest friend she had had through all of this. A small voice in her reminded...but that was just not enough to calm her down. George...the sound of his name was what changed it all. Swallowing and easing her sore throat she managed to look back at George now. Everyones' attention was on Evelyn. Carlin just stood there...like a bloody idiot while everyone seemed to pounce on her or just exchange looks of disgust. She was aware of every bit of it until her attention fell on George. The pain in his face sucking away every other feeling that bounced within her. Ohhh...George... she cried within not bothering to turn back when she was addressed. How was she to explain this...especially after having dug a deeper hole just then by yelling back at Evelyn.
The library just seemed to be crawling with people since it was the final week of school...every eyes lifted from their books and trained on them. Carlin just wanted to crawl up somewhere and hide. Leave...just leave. But with George standing there she almost felt immobile. She couldn't do anything. She was so conflicted between defending herself and holding George and her together. Whichever she chose...she lost something. And right now...it looked like George was the one she was loosing. Another person she caught rising and joining the group. Llyod. Whispering something close to Evelyn; Carlin narrowed her eyes towards them wondering what was brewing there. "Carlin is a bisexual prostitute who plays quidditch for both sides? I think that's what Aimee's sentence was supposed to end in. And the point Evelyn is trying to get across. But we already knew that, didn't we? I thought everybody did. Obviously not." Yet another familiar one, of course. That voice...that calm, collected tone. Malfoy. Snapping her head in her direction and spotting Ellington by her side she fit the pieces together. Oh bloody hell...just perfect... Even though anger seemed to be rushing along the surface the realization of all things she did wrong made her freeze up. Had there been anything she did right? Had there been anyone here she hadn't fucked around with? There's not one she hadn't lied to...not one she was true to...not one she didn't piss off...not one she hadn't hurt. She seemed to spare no one...including herself. It almost made her think she deserved this....but George..."SHUT THE FUCK UP." She jumped at the sound of his voice and turned to stare at him. No George...No... she bit down on her lips seeing how he was getting already. Harriet all over again. All those promises she made...to help him through...look where she led him. All she wanted to do was grab a knife and drive it right through her heart. It would end everything. Georges' or your pain, hm? A voice in her chuckled at how selfish she was even at this point when she was the one that fucked it all up. Her heart pounded wildly when George turned his attention to her....spoke to her. Every ounce of strength in her seemed to seep out the minute his words were out...her knees so weak she thought they would just give away that moment. "George..." she squeaked as those tears rolled out again. "No..please..." her voice barely audible as she tried to wipe those tears that didn't stop flowing.
That fucking bitch. Her insides roared at the sound of the pain in the boys' voice. Lost. She had lost him already. His question to Aimee made her want to crawl under a rock...to know what he thought of her now. Merlin...how had she screwed up so horribly. But her eyes moved up to the one person she could blame for all of this. This wouldn't have happened if it hadn't been for that bitch. Without a thought the words just came flowing out....whether it was pain or anger no one could really tell. "You deserved every bit of that, you fucking slut." Everyone besides Evelyn was ignored completely...."You are so fucked up you couldn't even see through my lies. I had no devious plan you tart. You were just bright enough to fall for all of it. You can't deny the number of times I shoved you away....and you frigging come back on all fours begging me to screw you." Her words only making sense in her own head as she tried to justify herself. She had pushed her away...she had told her its' over...didn't she? Hadn't she been the one to stick herself back into Carlins' arms? The bloody bitch had the nerve....She stepped backward moving away from all of them. "Don't you fucking play the victim..." But again....she had lied. She had gotten both of them to believe she loved them. As pictures of what she had done flashed before her...Evelyn. George. Evelyn. George. Anger rose in her once again...this time upon herself. "George..." she sighed turning back to boy she loved. Yes, it was him she loved right? Of course it was...but a voice in her made her juggle the thought for a long moment before she could say anything. The buzzing voices around her...the thought of being back to where she started...having to sink into her darkness yet again...she had no more strength. There was no use of an argument. It was all lost. "I've always loved you....I never lied about that....and you..." she returned her eyes to Evelyn not bothering to acknowledge anyone else in the room "If you think this is over...you're so wrong, love" It was over. Things were out in the open...there was no use of fighting or defending anymore. But Evelyn and her...were far from over. As she glared at the raven-haired girl plans were already shifting into place. The pain that tugged at her heart...for having hurt George. She hurt him...she did. Carlin? No...she met the brown eyes of the girl on the table...she did. Her emotions rocked back and forth like a pendulum...not still for a second. Fear of losing George. Realization of her mistakes. Need to get back at Evelyn. Pain of knowing she had nothing left to loose. She was not sure what she was feeling anymore. Direct her attention to convincing George? Could she ever do that? Was that a lost cause? Nothing was certain...she understood none of it. "I've been too soft on you haven't I?" she continued on biting back the pain that came with the thought of how George would feel hearing he speak this way. "Didn't screw you hard enough, did I? Your messed up families are a secret...but not me? tsk tsk" Through her tear-striken face she couldn't manage the appropriate expressions...but her tone said enough.
