The nightmares never stopped although time flew by fast now. He couldn’t believe how long it’s been since the attack. Maybe he was just imaging that it went fast but really time was slower than ever. It was hard to tell what the truth was anymore because he had heard so many lies recently he thought they were finally starting to sink in. Maybe there was no truth anymore. Maybe the world had filled itself with lies to try to get other people to believe their lies. That’s what the world was coming to now a day. It was hard not to believe the lies because you wanted everything to be alight. Loss has created depression and that has created a world full of lies. There was one lie that no one could believe. “It’s better their gone.” That’s what the people have concerted to now a day. They make you feel as if they didn’t love their life. That’s when a person realizes what truly has occurred. The pain stops for a second and your body fills up with anger. Once you have that anger, it will never go away. For it is regret and depression that is fueling the rage you feel deep inside.
Nathan felt that rage deep inside but he never let it show. Unlike most, Nathan knew when to keep it cool. He knew when people were watching and he knew how to react when they watch. That was a pure talent in this world that most people don’t have. That is why wizards get bad reputations. Nathan is lucky to have this gift. It made him seem more charming to all the women. This also helped with his ability to make his way out of a bad situation. Although, there was one bad situation he couldn’t get out of. Nobody could escape this bad situation. It wasn’t even considered a situation anymore. This “event” went down in history and soon the next generation would be learning about it. Everybody who wasn’t there is happy they missed it. For the rest, it’s torture.
There was only one quiet place in this entire school, and that was the library. Nathan loved being in the library because he would always hear people who were trying to be quiet but it never really turned out that way. It wasn’t ease dropping; it was observing everything around you. This was another talent that Nathan had. Nathan walked up to the second floor and walked slowly into the library looking around to see who all was there. Seeing nobody he knew, or even cared about he looked on the shelves and pulled out a random book. Without looking at the cover he put it on a table and sat down, putting his feet up on the table. He opened up the book, still not looking at the cover, and started to skim the pages not really paying any attention to what he was reading.

"And then I was like, 'Pern, get away from the garden gnome.'" Dez finished telling his story to a small group of girls. They giggled, raving about how funny he was. He really wasn't listening, but he knew it was praise. All for him. He loved it. The attention. All eyes on him. He excelled in it. Nothing felt better than to know that someone was smiling or laughing because of him. He went on about another story, this time talking about how he had to look after his baby sister during the summer. This elicitted several 'aw's from the gaggle of girls who were just eating right out of his palm. Though this time, his eyes and words were truly in it. He wasn't just telling a story, he was thinking back on it. He had missed people before. His friends from school when he were home during Summer. His cousins after seeing them at a family get-together. But nothing compared to how much he missed Destinie. He was with her almost every single second of her life up until he had to leave for Patronus Academy. He continued to ramble on about the new girl in his life until he passed by the library. His eyes caught on a figure at a table, and he found himself doubling back. Confused looks were on the girls' faces, but Dez paid them no mind. Squinting his eyes, he made sure it was him before turning back to them. "I'm sorry, ladies, but I have more pressing things to attend to. Lightwick does not like when one does not do their homework, and I find myself in a bit of trouble with that." Even through the outburts of 'I can help!' and 'want my notes?' and the likes of that, Dez found himself turning down all their offers. He really did have something else to do.
"I leave you all with my truest wishes that we do this again," He said with a sincere tone, placing his open palm over his heart. Turning around and entering the library, he smirked as he felt their eyes on his back. Passing several tables, he didn't stop until he slung himself into a chair quite loudly. He looked to the Librarian who was giving him a glare, and flashed her a smile. Turning back to the person on the other side of him, he raised his eyebrows. "Wands and Their Core Ingredients," he read aloud, though quietly. "When did you switch from a fan of the magic carpet to the wand?" He asked simply, though it was far from innocent.

"When did you switch from a fan of the magic carpet to the wand?"
Nathan looked up from his book to see a familiar face. It was a face he hadn’t seen in a long time but Nathan was glad to see him again. He finally looked at the cover and a smile spread across her face. “You should know me. I never actually read” he said closing the book and softly tossed it onto the table. The librarian quickly turned to look at him with a glare. Nathan put his hands up in front of his chest to symbolize that he was sorry, even though they both knew he wasn’t. “Oh, by the way, nice fan club out there. You really amazed them with the last story,” Nathan said putting his arms behind his back. It was nice being able to be yourself with somebody like Dez. They both knew a lot about each other and it was fun to think about all the old memories. Especially the ones they did insane stuff and never got in trouble for. When they were younger Dez and Nathan were friends, but they never really became close. They liked to hang out and all, but it wasn’t like they had to hang out all the time. Most people now a day have to see their best friend every day or they will go insane. Or so they say.
“I hear you’re a lion. What a shame, you could have gone so far as a raven.” Nathan said knowing Dez. He knew that the lion house was probably best for him but Nathan always believes that if you hang out with him, you can make it as a raven. Nathan looked back up at Dez and put his arms and legs down. He looked at the book again and pushed it to the side as he sat up in the chair. “So, how long has it been?”

“You should know me. I never actually read” was the boy's reply, tossing the book on the table. Dez held back his laughter at the look on his face. That librarian was sending them glares that would put the Avada Kedavra to shame. "Just looking at it for the pictures then?" Dez asked suggestively, letting out a small laugh before stopping. He didn't want to get kicked out of the library. Not at the moment at least. “Oh, by the way, nice fan club out there. You really amazed them with the last story.” Grinning, he nodded in agreement. "It wasn't a fan club. Those don't come by until after dinner," he replied nonchalantly. "Then I guess you heard me talking about Destinie. I'm assuming you already knew though? Heard through the pureblood grapevine? Going to congratulate me or just sit there like a sod?" He hadn't been able to joke with someone like this, save Red, for a long time. While he could spark up a conversation with anyone, there were only a few people that he could talk to about anything. Nathan, even though they had never hung out constantly or even spoke to one another the previous year at Hogwarts, was one of those people.
“I hear you’re a lion. What a shame, you could have gone so far as a raven.” This was something the two had talked about several times over back in the day. Just starting out at Hogwarts, Nathan swore up and down he should've been a Slytherin. He said Dez had drive, the glint in his eye that he was going to be doing much more than just flying on a broom and hitting a ball with a bat. Dez disagreed whole heartedly. "You know, Williams, you'd think that hearing this come from you once more, I'd be sick of it. But I kind of enjoy it. Makes me know that I'm being missed." He sniffed, blinking his eyes rapidly as if to hold back his tears. He went on in this manner for several more moments, even wiping his nose with the sleeve of his shirt before breaking out into a relaxed grin. "I was a Gryffindor. And I feel right at home being a Lion. You're just jealous you don't get to hang out with all the cool kids like me." He leaned back in his chair, letting his eyes wander around the library as he listened to whatever Nathan's response was. “So, how long has it been?” Looking back, his smile waivered slightly. "Over a year? I don't believe we've actually talked since the train ride to Hogwarts last year. It was a busy year last year. And then.. well, you know... So, how are you? Father told me about..." He trailed off. Nathan knew what he was talking about.
