While on vacation in Australia in 2014, Kim Davidson, her friend Jessie Lu, and three children were basking in the sun when they decided to snap this picture. They developed their photos later, but upon closer inspection noticed something odd behind them. As you can see from the still image, there appears to be an extra person posing with them in the sunshine, though they claim that they were the only people swimming in that area at the time. They were unnerved by this discovery, so they decided to do more research on the area where they were swimming, known as Murphy's Hole in the Lockyer River, Helidon, south-east Queensland. What they found sent shivers down their spines. Apparently, Murphy's hole is a notoriously dangerous swimming area, reaching depths over 20 feet. In 1915, a 13-year-old girl named Doreen O'Sullivan drowned there, and according to reports her body was not recovered until nearly an hour after her death. -read more |
